Who else do you root for?

I don't follow anyone or root for them with the passion I do for SU. That being said...

CU Buffs - I lived in Boulder for a few years after I graduated from SU and took some classes there.

Ohio State - I knew someone who played under Earl Bruce in the 80s and my wife's entire family is from Ohio.

The University of Syracuse. There's just something about those guys. Can't quite put my finger on it though.

I generally have arrived at the point where I will root for most ACC teams to do well. I like our conference a lot and hope it stays together.

To the surprise of no one I grew up as an unabashed BC Eagle fan. The flutie season was magical for a 9 year old. The win vs #1 ND in 93 solidified the love affair.

Had BC been somewhat as generous as the trustees of SU I wouldn’t ever rooted for the Orange. I owe my career, my family to Syracuse because of their generosity providing me with a scholarship.

Aside from BC, half my family went to USC. I own a strange amount of Trojan gear and root for the men of troy when they are on tv

ASU Sun Devils. I like Herm Edwards and I have to pick somebody close to home since I moved to AZ. I also like rooting against the NCAA given their investigation into ASU recruiting.

Oklahoma. When I was at Ft Hood, in the 90’s, one my guys in my unit was from Oklahoma. His mom always got free tickets and passed them to us. Was about 20 people that would come down and meet up to party the day before the game. Still good friends with them to this day. I root for OU with them and they root for Syracuse with me!

SU

Prior to joining the ACC, I had an affinity for Georgia Tech. They always seemed kind of like SU. A good program who was largely playing bigger programs. Going way back , and because of some Scottish heritage, I always thought their Blackwatch defense was cool. Since joining the ACC, I don’t root for GT anymore.

In the Big10, probably Michigan State. They were my second choice for school, so there was that.

Wisconsin and Florida I like to see do well

1- Wisconsin because all my family is from Green Bay and my uncle went to UW. I applied there but did not do an essay and send in my mid year transcripts when asked for more info. Kind of regret that a lot.

2- Florida because of Tim Tebow and my dream school. Wait listed and never got in. Stupid SAT’s. But the swamp is one of the coolest stadiums I have ever been to for a game. The atmosphere was incredible.

Northwestern. My brother went to grad school there, and I always liked their underdog status. And love the area.

Purdue. My wife started college there, and my father-in-law went there.

Anybody and everybody against Notre Lame and Ped State.

Oklahoma. Growing up my family were Texas fans so it was a natural rebellion. I also wanted to be a meterologist and storm chaser, so OU was the school for that. All of my kids root now as well.

After moving to South Florida, we are now FAU fans too. Kids love the games and got every single player's autograph this year. 10 year old thinks the drunk coeds are hilarious.

Can't wait to take them to Cuse this weekend!!

Your son is right. Drunk co-eds are hilarious.

Iowa State - Alma Mater
Northwestern - I work 2 of their games every year for the last 5 years...
Iowa...kinda. Married into it...but secretly I hope they lose

Rutgers and Georgetown. I kid, I kid

Georgia, been living here in the Atlanta area for 25+ years now. Wife is a Bama grad but I can't stand them. No rhyme or reason but I don't mind Michigan St.

My daughter graduated from The Ohio State University. I bleed orange but I love to watch the Buckeyes on Saturday as well. For several years they’ve helped ease the pain of watching the Cuse struggle.

The reason is the Syracuse connection with Michigan State. Biggie Munn coached at Syracuse then left for State. Duffy Daugherty played at Syracuse and then coached for Munn at State, eventually taking over for him as head coach. Both won a national championship there i believe.

Generally...

Whoever I need in my bets that week

in seriousness -- I like chaos a bit. Loved Cincy last year... loved UCF a few years ... don't really care for much out west ... LSU was an awesome atmosphere to experience ... just depends on the year really.

Syracuse. Grandpa played there from 1936-39. He got me hooked when I was about 10 years old.
Toledo. My whole family graduated from there (except me) including some in-laws, and we've had season tickets for the last 20 years.
Grew up rooting for Ohio St and then Urban Liar happened. If there's a more corrupt football coach, I'm not aware of him. My Fandom hasn't been the same since.
Have become a Northwestern fan. Love Fitzgerald. They were the original dumpster fire in the 70's and 80's. Lost something like 35 games in a row over a handful of seasons. There were high school teams that could have beaten them handily. Great seeing him having so much success there
Michigan State for the Syracuse connection.
I'll root for just about any MAC school. It's just great, fun football.

A family connection to Minnesota, gave me a soft spot for the Golden Gophers

It was an easy decision to pick the Ducks over the Beavs when I moved here in 1980

GO DUCKS !!!!!

Syracuse only. I’ll pull for other ACC teams (when playing out of conference) as that makes the conference stronger but SU is the only team I follow and love for decades. I remember the AOL board with dialup modems

Other than SU? UGA in the natty title race. Family from there and hatred for Bama and Auburn is natural.

Saban, Cam Newton, Pat Dye, and blatant racism

SU number 1 by a mile. Followed by San Diego State, which is my daughter’s alma mater as of this past May.
