I am having nightmares of Rishard Andersen playing press coverage on Campenaro. How the hell are we going to stop him?

honestly I bet a lot of people on here aren't thinking it is easy...they have been playing great ball last few weeks. This is a 50/50 game.

to me it seems more people seem to be saying this is a loss

Just cause the Freakin Deacons played possum for the first third of the season doesn't mean you have to let their stupid Jedi mind tricks work this time.

But, don't wear orange. This is a bad year for orange, apparently.

THAT will never happen! But this is going to be a tough game.

No one is saying it's going to be easy. There are no easy games in the ACC unless you are GT playing Syracuse, or Florida State playing anyone.

But this is a game we need to win at home. Part of hiring Shafer was that it was the best chance at continuing what had been built. We expected a drop off given all the offensive losses, but still, it's Wake at home and those are the kind of games you need to win, even if you have to gut them out at the end.

Run the ball, stop the run, and we should beat Wake. They have a good QB and a good WR, but if they are one dimensional, we should be fine.

we match up great with fl st- its a win- guaranteed

Wake as a road dog in the ACC since 2007. 1-14.. 5-17 overall.
Su at our worst had 4 dog wins.

lets just hope the trend continues for Wake on the road.

Yeah, I'd stick Reddish and Whigam on him in. Even Morgan if you have to. Anderson's not the type of CB who should be covering players like Campanaro.

WF is 10-14 points better than SU. We will need to get lucky to win this game.

We had to get very very lucky 2 years ago to beat them, we had a better team then, they have a better team now. Makes sense to me, as fans I think people like to ignore trends, etc. THIS IS IT FOR SHAFER EITHER HE BEATS WAKE OR HE SHOULD BE FIRED!!!!!!!!:bat:

I mean we are a 2 point favorite, nobody has ever lost with that type of spread, a fireable offense for sure. I heard we are talking to GRUDEN!!!!!

It's a 10 year spin cycle of this nonsense, shoot me.

I don't see anyone saying Shafer should be fired. But if they lose to Wake at home then making a bowl game is extremely unlikely and it will show that Shafer is probably in over his head.

Chip said it best in this thread: "This is a game we need to win at home. Part of hiring Shafer was that it was the best chance at continuing what had been built."

It comes down to the need for those of us with our orange colored glasses on needing to find wins in order to get bowl eligible so we look at the "easiest" games on the schedule and mark them as wins. BC is also in this category. They are the weakest teams on our schedule and are at home. Therefore...win. They are not world beaters but SU can't play poorly and win. Coaching will be critical in this game.

I'd love to hear the analysis that brought you to this conclusion. So would Vegas.

Proof? Otherwise it is BS speculation.

Shafer is in over his head at 5-7, first season in the ACC, lost his best 4 players on offense, best defensive player. I beg to differ, growing pains for a first year coach who needs to continue to recruit and tweak staff. A first year OC who cant match HACK with 3 years experience under the watch of a proven NFL coordinator, who knew there would be some issues??? People wanted Hackett gone too mid season last year

Wake will not be a pushover. Not by any means. They whipped NCSU and Maryland in Winston-Salem, and, should've beaten Miami this past Saturday.

SU-Wake should be a fun game to watch.

True but there is turnover every year. Next year we lose Bromley, Spruill, Lyn, Wilkes on D. Mac, Smith, Gulley, likely Hickey on O.

Still a lot of season left, we'll see how it goes.

No game we play the rest of the year will be easy. We're not good enough to take anyone for granted. A few people on here said this over the summer. The people suggesting otherwise were only remembering our games against Louisville and WVU and forgetting the games we gutted out against mediocre teams and the eggs we laid.
