Or the kid who took care of the bullies who were picking on kids.

One of those two...

This thread is heading no where good. Might be time for the lock. Legacy you out there?

Personally, if either of my children are blessed enough to play college athletics such as your son (and congrats on such a feat), I'd probably put away the keyboard and enjoy every minute of it.
I very much enjoy interacting with the parents on here. But this is basically how I'm going to be if my son is ever good enough to play high level college athletics, because I admit I'm pretty thin skinned and take things personally, so I can't imagine how poorly I'd react the first time someone criticizes my kid.

That said, I've always felt that if a parent or other relative has a good grasp on what he's getting into, it's no one's place to tell them they shouldn't be on a message board.

Jeff

Honestly, if Steven were to play horribly, I'd quite likely be the first to criticize. I've done it before, as his peewee coach. Also, during junior high and HS games and camps (admittedly not as often). But, I'd do it in a way that was constructive, e.g. "not bending enough", or "you reached out too much when blocking". Not "you suck, you should be benched". There are several "you suck, you should be benched" folks around here. Who the hell needs that?

I'm not sure if the staff has told the parents yet, but I'm pretty sure they will at some point -- it's probably in your best interest to step away from active participation on these boards. Nothing good will ever come of it, period. We've all seen it in the past, right grams?

I kind of agree with this. Although I think instead of worrying that we'll drive them insane with negativity - I wish it would work in reverse; that the insight and confidence they have from contact with the coaching staff would encourage us. Pipe dream, I know.
