Wildhack retiring July 1st

I'm watching Cuse Sports Talk on YTTV. On the radio break, the kid with the blue hoodie (name escapes me) mentions to Steve and Mario that when Tim Leonard checked into his room at the WBB team hotel for the ACC Tourney, Heather Lyke's name was on the TV. Which leads me to believe that she might not be on site.

Hmmm.

And shortly after that Steve said that he strongly feels Carparelli will be the next AD

Maybe I’m naive but I’ve seen enough of these hiring processes to understand that there has to be a slate of candidates and they have to cover all the bases. Even if they have no chance to get the job. Lyke is on the candidate list to fill out the slate and to check the “internal hire” and DEI boxes. and to placate Kent who should not have any say anymore. No chance she gets the job, even without the HR complaint

Not arguing, I just think that Wildhack at this point is a "lame duck" AD. The new AD should be the one fully responsible for the hiring of the new coach but I also am aware how difficult that is.

She is a special athletics advisor. Doesn't seem that crazy that shed' be travelling with the women's team. What am I missing?

I think the fact that some other guy is now in the room meant for her would indicate that she was supposed to be traveling, but isn't

That's correct.

While you won't see that kind of perk at a Red Roof Inn, most of your nicer properties have that feature.

Not at all. Senior staff members of the athletic department always travel the teams at tournament time.

I’d argue different circumstances. Kent was not an “athletics guy” so ,no, he gets little or no I say in the AD hire. JW is well respected and should get a say, but the new AD will get final say ( with approval from Haynie and BOT). These processes are nuanced. JW was probably over stating his role at the time so candidates agents would not ignore him, so we could advance the weeding out process before the new AD hire. jMHO.

One bed or two? Maybe JDub is setting Lyke up for an inappropriate conduct situation. I would double check the mini bar. I've heard people act differently while under the influence of alcohol.
