With Grant and Colman in the fold

Not a chance. The 2012-13 team will NOT have 13 scholly players. There is enough depth right now to carry over to next season with the addition of DC2 and Grant. I dont think the last scholly will be used - it's simply not JB's style to go with 13 schollys.

Yep. Save it IMO. We have more depth than I can ever remember.

Better to have a freshmen who sits a year unless your talking someone who is THAT goodsomebody who commits really early in 2013 with Noels.

Hard to think Dion won't be three and done.
Triche will be done in 012.
MCW could be two or one and done (he could be that good!)
Mookie graduates 5th year in 012.
Scoop is gone after this year.

that leaves us with Cooney and a bunch of freshmen instead in 2013.

On the other hand we will have a senior fair in 2013 if hes still around and a sophmore Grant. We have plenty of time to grab another SF in 2013 and give them a year experience before they need good minutes. I think PG edges the need over SF and SG due to grant having a year experience and PG being tough for freshmen.

Save it for 2013 class. Noel, Okonoboh, plus guards Tyler Ennis, Kendrick Nunn. Lots of good choices.

Triche and Mookie run out of eligibility in 2013. Are you speculating that Dion will jump to the NBA after three years? If so it's not hard to think that that's a bit of a stretch.

The only sane use of that scholarship *might* involve getting a point guard to back up MCW. Scoop will be gone, Boeheim seems convinced that Triche should stay a 2-guard and Dion doesn't have a PG skillset.

I think I'd rather the staff pocket it, though.

Yes, put me in with the "save it" crowd.

I meant the 013-014 season and putting the season in freshmens hands. That leaves us possibly 9 deep if Everyone returns.

Grant (freshmen ---> Soph)
Dajuan(freshmen ---> Soph)
Cooney(Soph ---> Jr)
MCW (Soph---> Jr )
Rak (Soph ---> Jr)
Fair (JR --->Senior)
Dion (JR --->Senior)
Melo (JR --->Senior)
Keita (JR --->Senior)

Thats 9 players.
Logically though,
Consider the fact that Jr Dion, Fab and Fair could all leave as Jrs.

Consider that MCW takes over the point instead of Triche next year and leaves early or Dajuan proves he is one and done.

Would you say all any of those are longshots?

So 5 of our players are in the runin for leaving after the 012-013 season I think right now. But thats how things usually are two years away.

Also we are after Noels and hes as good as any soph-jr in my mind and will be a great recruiting tool. But so will DC and Grant for any Guard that interested.:noidea:

We Know we will have a sophmore Grant(if hes healthy).
We know we will have a Sr. Keita and probably Rak if they are healthy.
I like the odds of Coleman returning and a sr fair to a sr Dion or Fab (most on the board agree with this).

We don't know if we will have more then Cooney in the backcourt if MCW and Dion both jump nor which one will jump and which one is more likely to come back.

It never hurts having a guy with a year experience under the belt. Especially with how stacked Syracuse is lately. We can get better future potential to wait a year, but could lose out on a 5 star stud if we do also. :noidea:

I kinda feel right now we have all the options in the world no need to jump the gun look at our options first

...drop it in the bucket reading '13...don't bring up unless an amazing 5 star PG shows up...and then maybe keep under wraps...we have more than JB knows what to do with...it is going to get ugly for playing time unless he relents and goes to two 5 people teams...

Seems unlikely to me that both Waiters and MCW leave early because if one becomes a star, the other will end up coming off the bench in favor of Triche.

If we are looking at a '13 guard rotation of either MCW or Waiters (maybe both) to go along with Cooney and a stud freshmen like Ennis, sign me up. I dont see guard as a priority this year when we signed two really good ones last year.

Would love to see Tyler Ennis signed in '13.

Can Jefferson transition to the SF position? If so, then yes, I'd chase after him. Our frontcourt is getting awfully crowded, but with Kris graduating, we might have some room at the 3 spot over the next couple years. I think we can all agree Dirty isn't the answer there, and CJ will start there for two years starting next season...which means, if Jefferson can turn himself into a 3, he can potentially take over the starting spot as a sophomore.

I'd only use it on Amile Jefferson.
Amile Jefferson will not be coming here. The signing of DC2 was the death warrant. No room at the inn and you can tell b/c SU seems to have cooled to him for the past few weeks. Also note that that he has been more actively taking visits ... UK, OSU,etc. Finally, Calamari is going to now have to put a big push to get Jefferson as their only likely "Big" man in the 2012 class. Cauley looks like a Kansas State commit; McGary a Michigan commit; and, Parker either a KU or OSU commit; and Tarzewski (sp) a KU or Arizona commit leaving poor Calamari w/o a big man recruit ... he will be pushing for Jefferson big time.

What do we do with our last Ship?

Go after a european kid. find a kid who is going to be happy coming here and might develop into something in yr 3 or 4. A shooter, like janulis etc. Someone who wont cause any problems and can compliment the cupboard for of studs that JB has at his disposal.

like they say a bush in the hand is worth two birds...wait i'm confused

Save it for 2013. Go balls to the wall for Noel and Okonoboh package deal
