I was wondering if maybe SU-BC ADs would come together and consider playing games in two consecutive years in historic Fenway Park and Yankee Stadium. SU home game at Yankee Stadium and BC home game at Fenway Park. Since we would play every season this would only be a 1 time special thing and since they are going to be played on Thanksgiving weekend wouldn't be as bad. Is this an idea people would support?

Probably not, Alumni Stadium is 4 miles from Fenway. Not really apples to apples for our fan base.

Maybe on a year that did not include a Metlife game.

Edit: Quaz beat me to it.

Yankee Stadium isn't in Syracuse. Fenway is in Boston. Not a fan at all.

Marsh I am against the Metlife deals if we play road/Metlife deals as those insult the true fanbase. I was just wondering because I know BC is looking to play a game at Fenway and would probably do the Yankee Stadium/Fenway arrangement in a heartbeat.

I would live it to be played in Fenway for a ton of reasons(mainly that Chestnut Hill sucks) , but it is not an even trade off as a few mentioned above. Fenway would be an upgrade for BC in regards to fan interest. Yankee Stasium would not do the same for Syracuse.

The Carrier Dome is our stadium. Any additional location is unacceptable and quite frankly a kick in the nuts. (and )

Amen. We have got to stop scheduling these games in NY. It sucks for the local fans who actually go to the Dome games (me and many others on this board in particular). We will never gain fans by continuing to do that. Keep 'em in the Dome and lock 'em in.

If BC wants to schedule a home game in Fenway, let them. We shouldn't be scheduling home games at Yankee Stadium, especially not conference games.

of course bc would take that deal.

theyd get a larger and totally pro-bc crowd in fenway than at alumni and the game at Yankee Stadium would have more beer vendors than fans in it.

that would be a home/neutral set up.

who hacked alsacs account?

swish? is that you??

Could be worse. We could be Vikings fans who had to go to London for a home game with the Steelers.

Have to be during a non MetLife year for the Yankee Stadium game. TV would have to get involved to guarantee a nice slot. It would have great visuals during Thanksgiving weekend especially if snow is flying. The games would get great ratings. Hopefully local Yankee fans would attend and root for the Orange.

The Yankees need to bring these babies out.

Bottomline: Could we sellmore than 30k tix? That is the minimum to not look pathetic on TV. Tix prices better be more like $30-60.

Absolutely not. After attending two consecutive games at MetLife, the NYC/NJ experience is wearing thin. Play our damn home games at the Dome already!

It doesn't make any sense. And doesn't Alumni Stadium hold more people than Fenway?

I despise the new trend of playing regular-season games at "big" pro venues. It's college football, not pro football. College venues are (generally) on the campuses. Play the damn games where they should be played, where the atmosphere and gameday experience are all about the colleges involved.

Hate it hate it x1000.

Tennessee vs. Virginia Tech at a NASCAR pit? I could give less of a flying . Might as well be a wrestling event, because it comes across as much of a fake to me.

It would be better if Tennessee and VT played a home and home, it's an interesting non conference matchup. But at least in their case the track is halfway between the two schools and will be completely full.

Playing it in front of a half full crowd on one side, and a possibly full crowd right next to one team's campus on the other side, just doesn't work.

Alumni Stadium is a nice venue on a picture perfect campus, especially in the fall. No reason to deny the 5k SU fans that scene. For our side, a conference game like this, should be in our home stadium.

V.T. has played a few games now on neutral fields or will play

So if average attendance was 20000 people would you complain if they went to another Stadium that was going to provide them with enough money to offset the lack of attendance? What would be your tipping point in attendance, if any.

Enough with the NYC games. Syracuse is not in NYC and the majority of Syracuse's fans are not in NYC. They are in Syracuse. If they want to fill the Dome they need to do a regional marketing push. Not try to become "New York's college team."
