Would people complain if SU/BC played two games in Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park

Also, we should move the bc games to metlife in exchange for ND coming to the dome.

Just for the record SU hasn't committed to this I was just asking because I know BC wants to play in Fenway. I am glad people would be against this series as it is starting to sink in how dumb the Metlife/away series would be for the fans. I would love to play a game at Fenway but not at the expense of moving a game to Yankee Stadium.
fail.

Giants Stadium games make sense.

your little scenario here made none.

dont try to blend the 2 for it doesnt work and is not applicable.

The Metlife series MAKES no sense when your moving appealing games 250 miles away from your home campus. The Metlife game against USC was a complete EPIC FAILURE, this year against Penn State was fair and was successful because it was a true neutral site game. You like the Metlife Stadium deal because you reside in or near NYC that is it. I get people like having a game near their backyard to make it easier to get too, but moving appealing non-conference games 250 miles away and then playing the other game in their situation is flat out stupid espically if you can get more fans going if you played them at home like we would have for USC.

My scenario would be ACC rivals playing a 1 time thing in 2 Historic baseball venues, while YS is new its still a historic scene and SU/BC would still be playing at each other's home stadiums 4 times in a decade. I could careless if we don't do it I was just wondering because BC is probably going to play in Fenway soon and if we wanted to move the BC game 1 time I wouldn't see a problem as our fans will get many chances to see them in the Dome. I am okay if this never happens, but your insistence that the Metlife/away deals are different is laughable. Tell me one good thing the Notre Dame Metlife/South Bend series was going to do? Thankfully, the ND-ACC deal took out the South Bend games for now but the price is we won't see ND in Syracuse till 2020 to get that accomplished. What good was the agreed too Metlife/South Bend series? Or playing USC in Metlife and drawing under 40k in attendance(with 15k USC fans)? The money we got was a 5 million dollar signing bonus from Metlife, but we probably lost a couple million in season tickets if ND would have come to the Carrier Dome in 2014-2019 like they did in 2003 when they played at the Dome. In 2003, to ND you had to buy season tickets no single game tickets were sold to that game, and the SU AD office made a lot of money off that in 2003. So the Metlife deal is about a couple million dollars which helps but isn't worth it when you lose potential fans in your home area in Syracuse. The stadium for Clemson was electric well we won't see ND for 7 years now so maybe 20k NYC SU fans can get an easy game in Metlife. Yay, SU is going to get a little pub in NYC BUT NOBODY BUT SU FANS THERE GIVE A CRAP.

To Bnoro, Fenway can support a football field fine the old Boston Patriots used to play there and the Wrigley effect wouldn't be a problem.

FIFY

I guesstimate about half of the Cuse fans at MetLife games live in the NYC area.

BTW, I heard through a VG source that Cuse might be playing Army at Yankee Stadium. What was not clear is if the game was a Cuse or Army home game.
Army played ND and Rutgers at Yankee Stadium as Army home games. My guess is that it would be an Army home game and I'd love to go.

i was against usc at Giants Stadium and im against not having at least 6 Dome games.

ive given my list of acceptable teams to play there on here ad nauseam.

everybody with half a brain should be able to figure out that moving an inconf game 250miles away is ridiculously stoopid. expecially if the trade off is the other team, moving theirs a few hundred yards.

do i enjoy the ease of a Giants Stadium game, of course...but im also smart enough to realize all the advantages gained. the very ones you just poo-poo'ed and all the ones youve ignored.

a couple million in season tickets??? whoa. alrighty then.

ND didnt come to Syracuse for hundreds of years, get over it.

and they will again.

but dont change the subject, fenway and Yankee Stadium was a bad idea.

Fair enough, but on the ND point it would be a couple of million dollars to the SU AD. We have around 33k in season tickets the Dome capacity is 49k. To get an ND ticket in 2003 you had to be a season ticket holder or get your ticket from an SU ticketholder. Atleast 2-3k ND fans purchased entire SU season tickets just for that 1 game. If we had ND on the home schedule from 2014-2019 your damn right those 16k tickets would be purchased. Say season tickets were 150 dollars for the ND season those 16k tickets would be 2.4 million dollars.

I get your point but just realize that game is worth a lot. I am glad we are getting 2 games before having to go to SB but losing that ND game in the Dome till 2020 is worth millions.

I just want them to schedule the game on a weekend other than Thanksgiving weekend. Flat out sucks for out of towners and students.

Are you suggesting a ban on all college games on Thanksgiving weekend?

But is just great for us townies!:p

They've expanded the infield seating and bullpens since then, it would be a very very tight fit, trust me.

No. The students and I just won't be there. Disappointing because it's one of the games I'd most like to attend, particularly when it's in Boston.

Good point and I watched the Roma and Liverpool game your right the pitch was close to Canvas Alley and corner kicks down their were scary close, but I think they can definitely put a football field in there even if they have to follow the Wrigley game and only have offenses go one way.

Yep, not saying it can't be done but they would absolutely have to do a Wrigley. The monster seats would be an amazing view, they could sell those at any price.

It was tight in the '60s. Any expansion since then would really make it a squeeze.

I actually love the idea. Over Thanksgiving Break, biggest football weekend of the year, make it an event everyone will watch and remember every year--great for exposure and could be a new tradition. Besides, the students are away that week, it'll make for a livelier event.

I want to play HOME as much as possible, and I want to WIN as much as possible, and I don't care who it's against. Sick of playing all these neutral site games and losing and killing our chances of building an impressive record the first week or two of the season.

Schedule a bunch of scrubs in the Dome and start 4-0 for once. Nobody seems to have a problem with all these other schools that do it.

I was wondering if maybe SU-BC ADs would come together and consider playing games in two consecutive years in historic Fenway Park and Yankee Stadium. SU home game at Yankee Stadium and BC home game at Fenway Park. Since we would play every season this would only be a 1 time special thing and since they are going to be played on Thanksgiving weekend wouldn't be as bad. Is this an idea people would support?
WHY?

Marsh I am against the Metlife deals if we play road/Metlife deals as those insult the true fanbase. I was just wondering because I know BC is looking to play a game at Fenway and would probably do the Yankee Stadium/Fenway arrangement in a heartbeat.

Would that be in lieu of playing BC at home? Then go ahead - for us to give up a home game would be absolutely nuts.

Now this is actually a cool idea. Distances would be the issue here obviously.
