oh i agree, he didnt have a good chance, that was just his best chanceOnce he went 15-17 with Nahz Carter, Isaiah Stewart, and Jaden McDaniels it was over for him. His offensive philosophy is worse than Autry’s.

Thanks for the career advice chief. My career is and has been rolling just fine for 30 years.Do you think that coaching situation was anything like any other he has navigated or 99% of the coaching situations other schools navigate?
If you bounce anytime you disagree with superiors at your job, you'll spend a lot of time unemployed. Anyone with tact knows the battles they can pick and the ones you can't.
Well, you’re missing the part where Trey said some nasty stuff to the coach that provoked the entire dialogue.
What did Trey say before Hodgson said it?Well, you’re missing the part where Trey said some nasty stuff to the coach that provoked the entire dialogue.
No need to call me chief. We are having a discussion and said nothing disrespectful to you. Thanks for the career advice chief. My career is and has been rolling just fine for 30 years.
He is the head of the AD. The AD has been a disaster his entire tenure. If he gets his hand forced by obvious imbeciles everytime he has a head coaching decision for the biggest program in the AD, why stay?
I’d encourage that for people jumping to disqualify the guy for the job. Obviously, you won’t hear what was said, but it was definitely not just said out of the blue like some are making it seem. The end of the game was chippy...if anyone still has their Peacock account people can just watch it.
Sure but as a Head coach, you are held to a higher standard than a student athlete is. And there are some things that are said that are below the belt. BH went there.Well, you’re missing the part where Trey said some nasty stuff to the coach that provoked the entire dialogue.
Nothing in Hop's record in his last five years at Washington indicates he would be an upgrade. Hop's teams happened to lose to California Baptist, Northern Illinois, Winthrop, Utah Valley, UC Riverside, and Montana as well. Red might have even picked off a few of those. Was Autry a 2 time coach of the year? Did Autry make a single NCAAT? Every single fan wants him gone now or by the end of the year. He has no feel for the game and has more than enough talent to make the tournament. Hop aint losing to BC and Hofstra with this team. Not sure how you can compare the two.
Sure, it was out of line. I agree. But to say he shouldn’t get the job because of it is ludicrous.Sure but as a Head coach, you are held to a higher standard than a student athlete is. And there are some things that are said that are below the belt. BH went there.
Did I say he shouldn't get the job? He might be my first choice (although I like Tony Skinn more) if he can get a lot of money out of the Lalli's. Having said that, it was a dirtbag thing to say and says more to me about his lack of character than any work he does with children in foster care or the fact that he was fortunate to have smart kids on his first team at USF. Or at least better students than previous coaches at USF had. To be honest, I didn't like Oats at Buffalo or Alabama either. You can be a dirtbag and be a real good coach. I would rather have someone be a good man and a good coach.Sure, it was out of line. I agree. But to say he shouldn’t get the job because of it is ludicrous.
How about let’s focus on the work he does with the children in foster care? Or the fact that in his first semester as the coach, his team at USF had the highest GPA in program history. He’s a high-character guy that said something he probably regrets in the heat of the moment.
Just tweaking your comment. “Some” Head Coached are held to a higher standard.Sure but as a Head coach, you are held to a higher standard than a student athlete is. And there are some things that are said that are below the belt. BH went there.
I just said in another post what I think of Nate as a person.Just tweaking your comment. “Some” Head Coached are held to a higher standard.
I was berated for quoting Nate Oates word for word when one of his players was involved in a murder and a local donor/judge was getting him players from the G League to play midseason.
I never said you did. Others here have.Did I say he shouldn't get the job? He might be my first choice (although I like Tony Skinn more) if he can get a lot of money out of the Lalli's. Only thing he regrets is going to HawaiiI never said you did. Others here have.
I guess you are just morally superior and have never said anything you regret. Judging his character based on one statement he made is comical.
Those are my four as well. I’m starting to think Hodgson might be the guy as well.First, I don't know what I don't know. By that I mean all of the players that might be interested in the job. Having said that, my top four are Tony Skinn, he is the George Mason coach. I hear he wants the G-town job though. I guess my second choice would be Bryan Hodgson. The reason I have some reluctance is that he did say to Red's son that Red would be fired. I hoped he didn't but I have been told by someone who would know, he did. Not something an adult coach should say. Not something a adult should say. But, I also believe he would get a ton of NIL money from a booster that currently doesn't give to basketball. By the way, I think Hodgson will probably be the guy. Of course I have to put Josh Schertz of St louis on my list even though I think he will do "better" than us at this point. If I have to name a 4th, and that is what you asked for,I would put Luke Murrey on my list. An ass't won't fly with the donors I don't think but he is an offensive coach. He will get a head coaching job and will probably be pretty damn good.
Well, so much for having an intelligent conversation with you. Learn the room. Now, yeah, I guess I am morally superior. I would never say to a young adult that their father was going to get fired from his job. LOL That isn't a high bar. And I guess that makes you morally superior because you would never judge someone on their beliefs on one subject or on one thing they said.I never said you did. Others here have.

I don't think so. I think any decent hire (i.e. someone with significant head coaching success) will have the fans at Hello. The fanbase will be invigorated with a proven choice.I just hope that whoever the hire is people aren’t saying blah I’ll live with him I guess. Apathy is killer.
Dude is gonna need Fran level charisma from day 1 to get people back on the bandwagon. Not sure that exists but it’s needed to succeed in CNY after Autry.
Well, taking that woman anyway.Only thing he regrets is going to Hawaii
I learned the room. Go ahead and tell me how long you’ve been here and how well respected you are. Quite frankly, I really do not care.Well, so much for having an intelligent conversation with you. I don't disagree with anything thing you said especially the last part in relation to the real world however, if your the Director of the Athletic Dept and your hands get soo tied that you can't do an honest search and are forced to hire someone who's part of a declining program are you then really the Director of that department? It then seems like its just in title only.Do you think that coaching situation was anything like any other he has navigated or 99% of the coaching situations other schools navigate?

Did he say he regretted his comments? I hear what you are saying but I am surprised that some people don't understand that leaders should be held to a higher standard, especially ones who influence younger people and would be the face of a program. Perhaps it shouldn't preclude him from the job but if I was the AD I would want to be assured that he doesn't have a problem. Also the above doesn't excuse Trey either. People need to be responsible for what they say. What and how you say things matters in my opinion.I never said you did. Others here have.

It’s not one of my goals in life to be message board famous, so that’s alright.LOL By the way, two things you won't ever be here. You won't be here long and you will never be respected.
