Oddly defensive response. I haven't gotten that impression from you, but I have from other posters.

Scooch made a comment that sounded like there may be a different version of these events. He should hold himself to a higher standard, but unless Hodgson vindictively sought out young Autry after the game and was like na na daddy is about to get fired it's a complete non-issue.

In your opinion it's a non issue. And there was nothing defensive about my remark. You missed the boat there. Simply I hold Coaches or adults to a higher standard than you do. Now, I did say I would hire him. After making sure that this wasn't his typical behavior.

This is getting weird. I was just asking for a follow up after seeing there might be multiple versions of this story. I have refused to defend what Hodgson (supposedly) did and have called it out (if true) as inappropriate.

You seem to just be pissy that I'm not automatically taking your story as gospel and condemning Hodgson.

I wasn't insulting your standards. I said that they were different than mine. And by higher I mean exactly that. I don't go for a coach talking crap to a player about anything. Especially his dad. You are clearly not as bothered by that.

Not a JB fan,,, still needs to be written. When Mike Hopkins took job at Washington ,JB was quick to announce all bets were off. He earned the right to stay on to coach his sons. That doesn't get him off the hook for how his stubbornness took this program down to it's current level. WE NEED TO MOVE ON FROM THAT COACHING TREE!

He had 22 years on the staff, and was one of the best recruiters in the country.

When he went to Washington, he took a team that wasw 9-22 the year before, and went 21-13j. And then the next year they went 27-9 and made the NCAA tournament.

He had several guys drafted in his first 3 years - Matisse Thybulle, Jaden McDaniels, Isaiah Stewart, and he had a bunch of good players like Nazh Carter, Hamier Wright and Quade Green.

If he stayed on the East Coast where all his recruiting connections were, we probably would have kept rolling in Top 100 recruits every year, and we wouldn't have seen the talent fall-off that happened.

How long he could have kept it going, we don't know, because maybe he wasn't a good bench coach, or maybe he just lost his recruiting connections. Who knows? But I think he had more chops than Autry has shown. I think everyone would agree with that.

I’m basing it on how he revealed himself to be poor at game coaching and developing an offense. The bubble years here weren’t that bad and Hop didn’t really even match those modest heights at UW.

Just to be clear, when Hop won 27 games in his second year, we had not won that many games since 2014.

Twelve years now. Boeheim was the coach for 9 of them.

So your premise that he didn't match our performances in those years is incorrect.

He didn't keep it up, but we didn't win as many games as his high point.
