Is it even worth trying to compile a list of possible WR coaches? Too bad Hafley is gone. Whoever it is I really hope it's someone with deep ties to NJ, or South Florida. Has to be an ace recruiter.

Any good young HS coaches in NJ? Functionally our staff's responsibilities are a wash at the moment, with McDonald taking over at WR. So this is a total "house money" hire when it comes to coaching needs/roles.

I love the idea of hiring a well respected coach. Just look at how WVU benefited from getting the Miramar HC. I like the idea RMH had of Rocco, even though I think we could get more bang for our buck in a place like NJ, since GMAC seems to have So Fla covered.

So, Ive been scouring the website for old SU WRs in coaching. I only found one. Not sure if there are any other alumni or guys with SU connections available . . . but I found this gem

- Morant has been coaching high school ball in NJ and now just picked up this small college WR job

Also, we should keep an archive of guys with SU connections in coaching. One name for us to keep an eye on is Reagan - Rice's OC

Reagan is actually the OC at Kansas.

Didn't fontenette cause joe Dailey to go to Nebraska by telling him he didn't want to come here? No thanks

If Syracuse did go with an Alum I thought Johnny Morant was an interesting person to look at.There are a lot of good coaches hiding in the lower schools and they have to start somewhere.Interesting that he's from New Jersey.

Shafer will bring in a guy who he has worked with in the past. If we can find someone he has worked with and who has good ties to the Northeast then there is our guy. Does that guy exist??

How about Damien Rhodes?

He doesn't bring anything to the table other than he's played here.

Section 3 is not a hot bed. No college coaching experience.

Agreed. Most creative special teams in years.

I've seen a lot of ST desires and I'm not sure why. I thought our specials this year were pretty solid.

He's young. He's a good coach. He will move up to the college ranks soon. Why not us?

This is deja vu from last year. Shafer went with Fred Reed. Not from the NYC/NJ area and not associated with him. Who knows what's going to happen.
