Writing is on the wall for Gait, this isnt gonna work.

Anyone who has posted on or read this thread should watch Ric Beardsley's interview today on Orange Nation on Cuse Sports Talk. He sure implied things could be bad if we don't beat Princeton and make the Final Four. He also talks about the extent SU LAX alumni were texting each other during the last game.

who cares? beardsley has no cash or sway to make decisions. he's someone that likes a mouthpiece or megaphone. that's all he has if someone gives it to him. my prediction and i won't watch his schtick... things won't be "bad" if they don't beat princeton.

you hired a new coach out of a not so awesome recent past. regardless of what fans or alums expect, they've after year 1 been trending up. you can argue a loss means flatlining year to year, but you're in no situation where the coaches are in trouble unless someone has real cash behind their texts. which i highly doubt. no offense to those having it, but the whole convo here (and between beardsley's text chat room) is washed. and fans should be looking forward to getting after it win or lose this weekend. imo.

I didn't take his comments that there is anything about him but that he's heard stuff. I agree he likes to talk and they give him a platform.

Gary Gait is a nice guy, hall of fame player and a good businessman apparently but he's a bad HC. It's year 4 and this program is in the same shape it was in Deskos last year.

Team has the same issues year after year despite a huge talent influx from year 1 to now. This offense mystifyingly dissappears for huge stretches, we still can't figure out a 10 man ride and for the third year in a row a top 3 team in not turning the ball over can't clear or stop turning it over in the last qtr of the season.

Defensively we struggle to stop known players and are the worst double team defense I have ever seen. I'm pretty sure Petro just broke through 3 guys for yet another goal. Dwan looks absolutely lost and our lsms got abused today.

Worst of all this team still can't play with any sense of discipline. Another 3-4+ penalties and so many wasted Offensive possessions. We also insist on playing the 2nd midline every other possession despite it being an absolute blackhole Offensively. Fundamentals are also a complete mess. That last sequence down 2 with 19 secs left was embarrassingly bad

Gait will get next year but if and when this team loses to ND next week and misses the tourney Wildhack should seriously consider pulling the trigger. Gait is not the long term answer and we're delaying the inevitable

Look you gotta give the staff credit between last week and this week that was 2 very impressive wins. That said I think it's clear there's still some concerns about the mistakes and uneven play we see at times. Gaits answered a lot of questions with this win but I don't think still having concerns makes someone an idiot especially after blowing a 5 goal lead and somehow once again going offsides on that last possession and nearly leading to disaster.

Look at all the mistakes Princeton made today. Look at all the mistakes Cornell made today. You’re a very knowledgeable lax fan…..much more than me. But it is once again idiocy to suggest Gait should be replaced as the head coach.As always with fans, coaches are given way too much blame for losses and way too much credit for wins. We are a team without top rate dodgers that executes offense like a symphony. Perfect spacing, great passing….just awesome to watch. We have a good coaching staff.In the end, whether we lose next weekend or win it all, it will be because of the players and not some decision made by the staff. That’s my belief anyway.

Gait should not be replaced after what he's shown the last few weeks and the team that is clear even if SU loses next Sat. Team offensively is very potent despite lacking a true elite dodging threat as you noted. I think it's some of the detail stuff including penalties, inconsistent play and mistakes in big moments that still have some people concerned about the Staff. I'm not blaming Gait directly but on that last possession you can't go offsides there, you just can't. Now luckily it didn't matter (thank god) but I think most fans want to see the team/staff clear those issues up and just play with a little more consistently. The talent is there to win a title.

Gait has these guys the furthest thing from scared, they believe they can do great things. And have won some insane games the last two years by doing the exact opposite of playing tight.

It's a laborious 60 minute game. Can always be cleaner...
