So dumb how they booked that match.
No idea what Kevin Owens did to Vince but to get squashed was dumb.

I dug Daniel Bryan-Miz. That is round one of more to come. Bryan took some nasty headshots.

The rest of the show was meh. I dug the Becky Lynch heel turn no idea why but I agree with the Brooklyn/Philly crowd whatever they think.

Good point on Stephanie. She was pretty brilliant with her strategy in that match. Alexa uncharacteristically took the bait and threw a weak headlock on and got destroyed, lol. Is Mickie James not her lackey anymore?

I actually think it was kind of smart. By doing it that way it took the cash in out of play after the match as opposed to everyone expecting it.

Not that Roman is going to get over as a super face or anything. (though he did get cheered when he won mroe than I thought)

I do agree with the stuff about Steph. It makes no sense, except it makes total sense.

Matt Hardy is dealing with potentially career ending injuries. They had him doing production stuff backstage tonight. Heard he has to undergo some surgeries and then he’ll decide if he’s calling it a career or not as far as in ring stuff goes. Can still see him showing up as a manager of some sort if his wrestling days are done.

I assume we are being set up for a Roman Reigns - Braun Strowman Hell in a Cell match next month. I’m a big fan of Strowman but I don’t see Vince taking the belt away from Reigns anytime soon.

Also noticed that Bobby Lashley didn’t appear at Summerslam at all. Weird considering he beat Reigns in the main event of the last ppv. I heard an interview with him recently where he hints at turning heel soon. Sounds like Vince is going to do all he can to make Roman Reigns opposition as hated as possible. Not sure it will work but interested to see how it will play out.

My running thoughts/questions/H0T Takes while watching SummerSlam:

- Friend of mine: “Dean Ambrose looks like the personification of an angry Bill Burr rant.” LOL! I thought that was too good not to share.

- Bludgeon Brothers kinda remind me of a 2018 Powers of Pain. I like it.

- Kevin Owens got absolutely squashed. Wow. I know it’s Braun, but...jeez. Where does Owens go from that?

- Does Bobby Roode still wrestle? Why isn’t he on the card? He should be a heel and one of the best ones in the company.

- I greatly enjoyed Carmella’s heel work. Completely over the top obnoxiousness. Cheating whenever possible, taunting the crowd and opponents whenever possible, trying to turn them on each other, cowardly falling down to avoid Charlotte. Well done. Feels like most of the good heels used to act like that to some extent, and now hardly any do.

-Man, that crowd went nuts when Becky attacked Charlotte. Are they really down on Charlotte? Or are they just behind Becky that much? Charlotte’s awesome IMO but I’m guessing they’re sick of her winning the title, the storyline was seemingly setup for Becky to finally win and Charlotte came in and stole her thunder?

- That TNA chant...lol. I was hoping for a “fallen angel” Christopher Daniels chant too. Awesome match. Those two guys are a can’t miss match every time going back 15 years. Ending obviously sets up some kind of hardcore rematch it would seem.

- speaking of great heel work...the Miz. Classic old school heel stuff. And I was legit annoyed that he won. Surprised the crowd wasn’t more into that match.

- I’m as nostalgic as anyone, but The Undertaker vs. HHH? Why? Nevertheless...I’m probably in.

- So Hardy has two feuds going on and they both keep beating the crap out of him? Where’s Matt?

-Swanton bomb onto the apron is pretty dangerous at any age. He’s gotta be mid 40s? Crazy.

- So were they running short on time so Orton just came out and went back in? That was weird.

- I’m 50/50 on Rousey. She’s obviously physically imposing. And the intensity of her moves works. But her trash talking is kinda corny, and so is the “Rowdy” thing. It’s gotta be her vs. Charlotte at Wrestlemania next year I would think.

- where’s Cena? I know he’s been part time for awhile but would figure he’d wrestle at a big show like SummerSlam?

- Brock throwing that briefcase was pretty awesome.

It’s amazing how much a
big match capital this company has used on Roman Reigns the last four years and he still isn’t over and he will never get over. He will never have the mic skills to show that he’s not a Vince production.
Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, The rock none of them have ever main evented five wrestlemania’s in a row and it’s going to happen with Reigns even John Cena didn’t main event five wrestlemanias in a row Vince just won’t stop until he gets what he wants.

As lame as it sounds, I'm almost positive I read somewhere that Brock not only has a clause in his contract for how many appearances he makes but also how long his matches can go.

They destroyed Brock’s credibility to try and get fans to support Reigns.

If I was one of the guys that put over. Brock the last few years you see what Vince is all about. They will never make Reigns into Cena. Fans could respect Cena because he could speak and everyone in their right mind would sellout for the money i am sure Cena drew and earned.
Reigns Era has seen house show sales plummet and ratings go down.
It’s why Vince did the Saudi Arabia deal and Australia deals to supplement the lost house show revenue and to help the network.

It’s amazing how bad the guy has run the company to get a guy people don’t want over. He is lucky Fox is paying peanuts for 52 weeks of Friday night content of live entertainment for 200 million dollars a year and that is cheaper for Fox than paying for shows that have high production and won’t get millions of viewers a week.

If Vince had a better product he likely gets a lot more than 200 million per year which he thinks is great.
It was a steal for Fox.

I passed on SummerSlam tickets last night.

Braun is reduced to being a red herring to keep fans from crapping on the match. He's barely treading water. He's a comedy act.

It was good to see that Lynch is now a "heel", despite the fans being behind her 100%. Charlotte, Alexa and Ronda represent everything that is wrong with the "Evolution" concept. Even though, Alexa lost last night, those three have been handed everything on a silver platter. Hard to fathom Charlotte being a seven-time champion in a two-year span. The Evolution PPV looks to be a train wreck thus far. I've said for that event to succeed, they need to keep the blondes who can't wrestle out of the ring and put those that can actually go front and center. Alexa/Trish and Rousey/Bella goes against that.

He's alluded to retiring per his Twitter the past couple of weeks.

Lashley is done. This generation of fan doesn't know who he is and they completely nerfed him from the character he had grown to become in TNA where he was well-rounded.

Owens needs a redemption angle. I'm not a fan of him, but the way he has been handled by creative is part of the larger problem that exists in WWE. Go from Universal Champion to being buried and used to get a comedy act in Strowman more over. Like Zayn and Asuka among others, where do they go from here?

People are tired of Charlotte and how Vince books her. She comes back after an absence and gets thrown into the title picture because Carmella insulted Paige? Huh? With a smarky crowd in Brooklyn in addition to Lynch's fanbase, this was going to happen if a turn indeed happened. Lynch is the babyface in this feud despite being a sore loser heel last night.

The thing is you can see Charlotte has actual talent but she is booked like she is above the rest of the roster just because of her dad and by giving the belt to Rousey so early she didn’t chase it and nobody can beat her for a long time now.
If they have Nikki Bella is the opponent for Rousey at their PPV it’s so dumb but we are talkings uncreative.

I am serious when I say almost anyone without a stick up their butt could book better. Typically these statement are made in jest but I am serious .

That's why I don't get the whole "lol stupid marks, Reigns is secretly a great heel cause you hate him" theory.
I passed as well & am sure others did too for the same reason. That's not real heat that's go away xpac heat.

I think this was the first TNA match I ever saw. Amazing. I don't think I ever mentioned this, after the first NXT show in Brooklyn in 2015 I was at the same bar as all of the nxt guys. Samoa Joe was the coolest dude there. So great.
