Your 2025 Offensive Line

If you think about it, the last 20 years or so. Who was are only starting true frosh o-lineman that was successful? Bergeron? And he didn’t start until a few games into his true frosh season. So it’s very rare for Cuse and Bergeron was a camp find
Kalan Ellis started as a 400lb true freshman OG

I think it's broken into two groups, 10 guys that will form the 2 deep, and then 8 guys that are development. All jokes aside, they have obviously focused on strength and conditioning

Two Deep I think Collins and Spoon are locked in. Battle is for guard and one tackle.

There's no way they just let Washington get fat. I'm leaning that is a legit playing weight, which is insane. With the changes in weight, both up and down, I think they upped the "science" and pegged optimal targets for every player based on frame, cardio, and strength. It seems too systematic to be anything else. Another example of DART.

Development guys. Not saying they can't move up, some will probably have to because of injuries. Brown mentioned Hawn specifically as getting himself ready.

The change in measurables has been remarkable.

If nothing else, this team won't be physically overmatched against anybody they play. The days of getting manhandled are over. It doesn't guarantee anything, look at FSU last year as the case study in that, but at least you aren't starting out with a distinct disadvantage.
Nailed it

Some more notes about potential. Not saying these guys played to their potential at all, but if they can approach it, could be a top 1/3rd line.

Rice had a 97.5 HS rating. 5 star, #1 OL in his class, #21 overall. Have no idea what his issues were/are.

Ferguson, know injuries were an issue last year. 95.4 out of HS, 4 stars, #3 OL, #64 overall. Bama/FSU

Pringle 90.7, 4 star, #18 OL, 269 overall. S. Carolina. Obviously thought SU was a better path to immediate PT. What else?

Miller 88.3, 3 star, #52 OL, 540 overall, UGA, didn’t play here last year. Word is he’s matured, gotten his body right and he’s a different guy. We’ll see.

Bertrand 86.7, 3star, #51 OL, 785 overall, TAM,/Bama, two SEC staffs thought he had potential. Can he reach it here.

And they all have the one thing you can’t coach … size.

Who along the offensive and defensive line do we prioritize keeping? Who has shown or projects to be a legitimate P5 starter among these position groups that have plagued us for years. (We’ve brought in the requisite size and a weight room staff that seems to know what they’re doing, now how do we compete in the trenches).

More importantly, who do you want making that assessment, and when?
Agree need a new Oline coach.
Players to keep
I think about 80% have P4 potential but we need a better Oline coach. Yesterday I saw Mack move to double inside and the end went right around him to the qb. Been seeing the same problem with others all season.
I don’t think you block air but you have to maintain position for delayed blitz or not doubling to quickly.

I don't think the communication and recognition of defense is taught well. Was a problem all year. Guys blocking air. Not understanding responsibility is coaching.

We will have a new OL coach. And several others.
Not questioning you, however is this fact or conjecture based on gut feel? I didn't know if this was something whispered by folks in the program or is this built strictly off what you've seen and deduced? By no means do I disagree if you arrived at this based on what you've seen but curious as to what you may have heard.

He's got great info (respectful response to your respectfully -framed post to RC).

All of them.

Oh I know he does ... we all know change is needed but didn't know if he was told this was in the works or just based on the fact we can all see it and he is assuming it will happen.

this goes beyond gut feel.

If QB1 is that important to Fran and Nixon and if we lose him the season collapses then fixing OL, running game, and OL coach all must be a homerun.
