I think Zeed not being on the team right now hurts the DB's in practice because they need to be challenged on long throws and to be honest I don't know who can do that. Gill and Hatcher offer the closest speed to Zeed but I'm pretty sure they are not as fast.

If we trust what Coach Fran is saying (and I do 100%) then I really appreciate what he is doing for this young man.

At the end of the day these players are young kids and they are human.

Letting him take whatever time is is needed to deal with this is what sets Coach Fran above the rest.

I hope Zeed returns this year but I also hope that Zeed takes care of whatever it maybe in family first.

Yeah, sometimes people need a moment. Can't it be just that? If it's a few weeks or a bit more, give the young man some time to work things out. That's what Fran is doing, and that's why he'll be back. Footballs means nothing in the grand scheme.

My sophomore year my dad got really sick while I was playing division 1 golf. I tried to take the entire year off and then redshirt. But he said it would make him feel better if I went out and played and played well too. That’s literally the only reason I played. It’s insane people don’t think this kid could be going through something with his family and the situation is “weird”. Leave the kid alone and let him do whatever he has to do. It’s just football

I don't think it is a done deal that he wont be back this year. He burned his redshirt last year so he could still play a few games without negative consequences.

Obviously, whatever is happening, is something major in this kids life and we just have to wait and hope that it all works out for him.

I think Fran has handled it perfectly. Supportive and understanding.

I think what makes this so hard for fans is that we waited so long for our team to be good again and not a laughing stock. And this kid showed in the first two games that he is a star in the making.

Sad to say, if he was a third stringer or someone who barely played, fans wouldn't care so much.
