Boehiem Ripping Chad Ford in post game

McCullough has been in double figures all six games. But gotten into double figures quietly.

7-11, 6-7, 7-12, 5-9, 4-7, 6-14.

So he is not loudly auditioning or looking to get his.

There is literally no positive benefit to what Jim is doing right here. The people here acting like Ford is giving "advice" or is some guy doing his own talent evaluations sound completely ignorant. He's not a Keith Law. He simply ranks based on the rumor mills going on around NBA Front Offices. Note this isn't coaches but that's not the point, Front Offices and GM's are the ones giving a single crap about draft talent right now. So if he says Mac is near the middle of the Lottery, it's like Mac is getting a lot of talk. Ford isn't telling kids to leave. If the kid and his family want to take Ford's ranking to heart that's their prerogative.

Meanwhile, Jim isn't helping anything with this tirade. He looks out of touch and spiteful. This isn't yelling at Andy Katz over Fine reporting, this isn't getting behind Gerry and going off. All he's done for 3 conferences or so in a row is throw kids under the bus. What's the point of bagging on McCullough's height? Is he trying to prove something? Because EVERYONE ALREADY KNOWS THIS, everyone knows his camp measurements. This isn't some new info for NBA GM's. So what do you get out of it besides possibly pissing McCullough off for getting angry at positive press? Can McCullough control what NBA beat and draft writers write about him? No. He's not the bad guy.

And to the guy who said that Jim knows more NBA people than Ford, why? What reason does Jim have to know anyone in the NBA beyond the fact that he recruited them or coaches them for Team USA? Why would he need to talk to NBA coaches unless they ask him for a word about a Syracuse player? He's not a Pitino or Calipari who is around the NBA a lot or coached there. It's completely logical Ford knows more "NBA" people from current front offices to coaches.

But, but, but, but, he was one of the assistants on Team USA.

Okay, I just saw the press conference.

It seems more has to do with something to do last year with the draft process with Ennis and/or Grant.

Yeah he reference how McCullough gave up 15 points on his own according to Coach in the 2nd half. But Coach complemented him saying he has been playing well, and so on. So I don't think he was trying to degrade or take shots at McCullough.

I agree with JB. I think Chad Ford and guys like him have more influence then they should. They over rate and over hype kids based on potential, when all it does it hurt the kids at the end of the day.

Its not Forde's job to temper players expectations or convince players to stay longer in college. He is simply laying out the information that he has access to. This is classic messenger blaming and is tantamount to blaming the weather forecaster for rain.

I don't blame any kid for leaving for millions of dollars. My beef is with the NBA business model that consistently drafts freshman who are not ready to play and contribute at all in the NBA. This has become the majority of the first rounders. I guess many owners don't mind that they are paying millions for assets that don't contribute anything. It's amazing.

Nobody wants to miss out on the next Kobe or KG. Its worth blowing ten years of mid first rounders to land a superstar now and then.

How bout, as Coach say's let the players play. And come out with draft forecasts in April, or when the season ends or when players are declaring for the draft.

How bout we still use sony discmen and rotary phones? Continuous draft prognostication is what we have and its not going anywhere. Adjust to it and accept it or ride off into the sunset on your dinosaur.

Let them go out of high school, then if you choose to go to college. Have to stay minimum 3 years. Just like Baseball.

Dick Vitale, is 100 percent right.

Maybe jb should coach his team and let other people do their job as they see fit. I have an idea. Let's recruit kids that can make a 3 pt shot for a change.
That's the point.

Any one of us could do just as well from 3 as anyone on the team did against Holy Cross.
0-14 tonight.
18-91 (including garbage time) for the season.

Perhaps C-Mac dreams of a team on which there's some reason for a big man to kick the ball back outside to open up the offense.

Stop having a different opinion it is not allowed. I mean sometimes JB is wrong. The guy is clearly ticked off McC is likely gone now but I mean does he think Chad Ford isn't getting fed info on these kids.

I'm with Boe. Players need to focus on becoming the best player they can. Otherwise they'll be riding the bus with Tyler and Jeremi in the D league

Jeremi was hurt, not in the D league. He debuts tonight and they seem to be pretty excited about him.

Ennis was not in the D league for performance, he was there for playing time. The suns have a loaded backcourt. I don't think they expected Bledsoe to resign when they drafted Ennis.

I also believe Ennis is back in the league now.

Kawhi Leonard left after his soph year.
somehow he's gotten better in the nba
And the euros/South Americans aren't stuck in our college system. They're getting paid much earlier.

As someone else pointed out, it isn't just CMac leaving that JB is concerned with. There is a danger that someone that age can become less coachable during the season if they get it in their head that they are predestined for the lottery or first round and don't need to continue to improve. JB isn't fighting against losing Cmac at the end of the season with his comments, he is fighting against starting to lose him now.

So let's say a guy is not NBA-material at all as a freshman, but makes a huge leap into a lottery pick as a sophomore (e.g. Dion Waiters or MCW). What you're basically saying is that your personal entertainment as a fan is of higher priority than the ability of an American citizen to earn a living.

Sherman Douglas and Ronny Seikely had solid careers but Billy Owens and PearlWashington didn't have great careers.

Billy Owens played in the NBA for 14 years. He averaged 12 points and 7 rebounds per game. That's a pretty damn solid career.

There are more than 300 D1 teams with tremendous young players as well as talent all around the world . How can anyone single out a player in their 5TH college game and say they are one of the top 10 in the world? What about Sabonis at Gonzaga for instance.

You realize Ford only has McCollough 21st in his current rankings but he is saying if McC keeps producing like he has he will move up to the lottery.
McCollouh is 6'10" and has a 7'3" wingspan.
All of us would love McC to stay an extra year but their is a reason Thomas Bryant is a heavy Syracuse lean without having a scholly available right now. JB is going cranky for no reason Ford has no agenda against Syracuse he writes what he is told from NBA GMs/scouts.

Domantas Sabonis was already getting hype for his Sophomore year, but given his production this year and if Gonzaga goes far (his name also doesn't hurt) he's going to shoot up the rankings for this year as well.
