Fun off-season question for everyone..

Ha...those titles kill me.

I cant give a percentage man because I love all my teams equally. Growing up (other than normal go to church religion) there were 3 religions in my house (and my bro who posts on this site can vouch).

Syracuse Athletics
NY Giants Football
NY Yankees Baseball

No one is more important than the other and you live and die with each team.

Yup. Before reading your response I would have answered exactly the same. For me it is 100% for each, in their own season. I could not love SU Hoops, NY Giants footbal or Yankees baseball any more during their respective seasons.

That being said, as far as being a fan of a sport in general, I watch any and all college hoops, to the point that is all I watch for months. NFL football I watch for 10 hours every Sunday and Monday/Thursday nights. Baseball I watch only Yankees games, and couldn't give a about anyone else or watching random games.

Follow the Knicks but don't watch much in the regular season, and watch plenty of Golf. College football never did much for me, but I'll always watch Cuse games regardless.

100% New York Giants
100% New York Yankees
100% New York Knicks
100% New York Rangers

how can i pick my favorite kid??

F everybody else.

and F a player if they leave 1 of the above for the enemy.

the enemy being defined as anyone not named above.

the only exception would likely be DC. that SOB could suit up for the Celtics this month and id have a hard time not rooting for him and the Cs. since that aint happening, i got nothing to worry about.

cant tell you how many times ive double dipped live attendence in a day.

Giants-Yankees
Giants-Knicks
Giants-Rangers
Yankees-Knicks
Yankees-Rangers etc.

same weekend? forget about it, wow, too easy.

i think theres a Syracuse football and a Ranger game in there as well.

there is no way to differentiate the love.

FWIW: if push comes to shove in a game time conflict and i got tickets...Im going to a Giants game over all the above.

No need to thank me.

For me, the lack of interest in SU Football is mostly due to my overall lack of interest in college football. I care so little about the sport that it's hard for me to get too invested in the SU team.

Oh my gosh - I am absolutely obsessed with college football. I get legitimately flustered when anything comes in the way of me watching Gameday followed by a full day of games on a Fall Saturday.

Why not?
After all, that does sound "recreational".

Ah, what the hell... here goes

SU Basketball 40%

Green Bay 20%
SU Football 15 %

Wow great question... it does depend on the season but my fandom breaks down like this
35% SU Football
35% SU Basketball
15% Buffalo Bills
10% PGA
2% Notre Dame
2%My fantasy Football players :noidea:
1% HUGE fan of anyone beating - #1 ranked team, SEC team, Kentucky Basketball, anyone ranked ahead of my team, UCONN, Georgetown, Rutgers ect.

This is a great question and it's been quite interesting seeing the variation in the answers. I'm having a hard time applying percentages as a local 95% of my sports $ is spent on SU tix, but I don't think that defines my interest in my pro sports followings.

30% SU Basketball
30% SU Football
20% NY Yankees
15% NY Giants
5% Other (NASCAR, Golf (majors mostly), SU Lax, passing interest in NBA)

50 % Cuse Basketball (this was about 30% when I was at Syracuse)
30 % New York Mets (this was about 50% when I was at Syracuse)
20 % New York Knicks (they've sucked for so long...it's been hard to follow them as much as I did in the late 90's/early 00's.)

The Chicago Bears are also in there (only started following them last year), but they're not really much of a threat. I only really care about them on Sundays. Syracuse football, meh. I went to Syracuse during the Greg Robinson era. That's all anyone needs to know. I also own a New Jersey Devils cap and t-shirt, but I only bought that during their Stanley Cup run last year. I also have a Chelsea jersey, as I kinda adopted them as my EPL team, but because of the time difference, I rarely tune into games.

18 Syracuse Football
17 St. Louis Rams
15 Manchester City
12 Syracuse Basketball
11 US Soccer
8 Borussia Dortmund
7 VCU Basketball
6 St. Louis Cardinals
4 Seattle Sounders
2 Carmelo Anthony (aka the Knicks)

The sad thing is that I could put more sports down on here but I had to limit myself to ten.. I watch a little bit too many sports

I understand, but it doesn't work that way.

U may be too much of a newbie to realize I'm Omniscient, Omnipotent and Omnipresent.

It helps for this exercise.

cuse hoops is first, and always first

then cuse fotball

new york knicks

20% SU Football
20% SU Basketball
20% SU Lacrosse
15% NY Yankees
15% NY Giants
10% NY Knicks

At least that's what my closet looks like.

70% SU Bball
9% Local Teams in Rochester (AAA Red Wings, Rhinos Soccer, Lancers Indoor Soccer, Amerks Hockey)
5% Mets (Keeps me busy when Bball season is over)
5% Bills
5% World Cup (Watch them 24/7 for those couple weeks)
5% Olympics (Same as above...I'll watch curling, fencing, you name it)
1% Whichever NBA team has Syracuse players

I like the closet test. As I thought about it, I have pretty much 1 or 2 of every one of these teams/events shirts/jerseys, then probably a half dozen SU jerseys and at least 2 dozen (and constantly growing) shirts.

putting aside my kids teams which would be 99%.

su bball 45%
su fball 45%
nyy - 3%
nyg - 3%
other su teams - 2%
nyk - 2%

Great question. But I have to divie it up differently.

I'm interested in SU hoops 100% of my waking life.

I'm interested in SU football, 100% of the time that SU hoops is not in season.

NFL on Sundays only.

Hockey during the Stanley cup.

Golf majors.

Have nearly given up on baseball - maybe because I'm a braves fan, maybe because its run by idiots.

NBA = do not watch.
