Kadary Richmond in the transfer portal

My worry is how likely is it Q comes back should he decide to play another year? That’d be the next bad domino to fall.

I don’t see Woody leaving now that Braswell’s going, and AG’s likely out the door.

Could be very wrong.

If I ever found out it was any of y'all I would ask that you never be allowed to post on here again.
Pleassseeee, JGIII doesn't need you to speak for him. If he does then there is no reason for him to be a collage basketball player as fans may yell from the stands and he may break down. Although I don't care for social media nor do I participate in it this "hurt feelings" thing is just over the top.

In these Athletic profiles, Kadary just sounds like such a heady and level headed kid who is willing to bide his time and understood that he had to fight for a starting role and if he didn’t win it, he’d come back and stay in Syracuse and fight harder for it in the off-season. That’s all from high school coach Shawn Mark, who is friends with Allen Griffin (Griff also grew up in Flatbush, where Kadary is from). And Brewster assistant Tim Cushing mentored Kadary and is close with him. We’ve done so well with Brewster kids and are close with their staff. don’t understand how we are we losing a Brewster kid to a transfer.

He also talks about Syracuse being his dream school and how he walked into his high school coach’s office as a sophomore and said he wanted to go to Syracuse. Carmelo is one of his idols. Man, the staff needs to get him on the phone with Melo and right this ship.

Never in a million years did I think he would transfer. IMO, Boeheim was clearly going to start him next season, based on his freshman year trajectory and if he worked on what he needed to work on in the offseason. The only reason he wasn’t playing 30mpg in the tourney was because of the injury.

His dream realized, Syracuse’s Kadary Richmond is ready to work

The silky smooth pace and control of Syracuse freshman Kadary Richmond

“People from my area don’t get opportunities like this,” Richmond says. “I’m not going to waste any moments out there.” How’s that for perspective from the 19-year-old, who is equally aware of his weaknesses as his strengths: “I need to work on picking my spots on the court, knowing when to attack and when to make plays. Being a little more aggressive sometimes.”
As a Syracuse basketball fan, this is completely disheartening. I can’t think of a transfer that I ever gave a hoot about because it was always kids who weren’t that good or were stuck behind better players. We’ve never had one like this, that from a b-ball standpoint makes zero sense.

Q is better off getting paid somewhere

I’ve shared the story with some friends but this JG thing with JB goes back to his recruitment process and I can’t with every single person on this board but JB is still trying to prove a point of something with Joe when Joe was being recruited. We know Boeheim is stubborn but this is the biggest ego play ever when it comes to Joe to show he’s right and it literally might cost years on the program. No one thought kadary was going to be as good as he was going to be and thought he would walk in and make immediate impact. But there’s gotta be some adaptation but JB ain’t having it BC he wants to prove he was right all along about Joe.

JB said in a presser about how he literally doesn’t listen to anyone and his dad taught him that from a young age. When I tell you he thinks he is right about everything and doesn’t take any advice, he literally does not and I know there’s a lot of unhappy people about this Joe thing internally. This has been years of stuff but yet it’s finally coming to light when you lose a player like kadary. The stubbornness is back firing.

I got ripped for saying the program was in decline. But BC of a sweet 16 run everyone loved JB. Declines are not just wins and losses. It’s showing up and playing for someone who just isn’t fun to play for and I think that was obvious this year. This will have a very lasting effect and no accountability at all from JB about the why kids transfer. This one is 1000 percent on him from the way he talks about players in such a bad way to the way he coaches on the floor and literally never yells at buddy. The players are sick of it and I do not blame them. Kids are kids and they need a coach that cares about them 24/7. That’s not the case here especially with how many public negative comments JB is content with sharing. This hurts
Post of the year. Thanks for all of your insight.

Anybody that has ever worked with big ego “I’m right and everyone else is wrong” type of personalities knows exactly how this is playing out.

The moment you think you know everything is the moment you truly know nothing.

I’d feel bad for him except he takes the worst shots I’ve ever seen, the worst drives I’ve ever seen and plays awful defense. The defense I’ll ignore, are the first two things something you want from a point guard. If he was able to bring the ball up and pass it, make smart decisions I don’t think people would be so hard on him. JB is at fault, but Joe hasn’t helped his case at all.
I can’t take his lack of handle

Sure, but none of that warrants the flack he’s about to get from the fanbase that really should be directed at JB and the Athletic Program

I truly feel bad for Joe. I don’t know the kid personally but he’s in an impossible situation now. Unless he has an all acc type year half the fan base, likely far more, may unfairly resent his career.
Agreed my friend. He works hard. He does the right things. Unfortunately the fan base knows he’s more of a mid major talent but then we you lose other players BC of loyalty with the coach, the fans are going to lose their minds. Unfortunately the future recruiting is going to be far worse like I’ve said BC of this scenario. Some on here called me crazy about why I explained why kids don’t come here. Gave all the examples of why they don’t and people thought it was just my opinion. THIS IS THE REAL LIFE EXAMPLE. The worst happened and now the program is in some serious trouble the next 2-4 years Bc when you crown a player, no one is going to be happy with that especially future recruits

Not the optimal situation for him next season when fans will be in the building

Maybe JB rides off with Jimmy and Buddy after next year. That’s our best case scenario

It’s going to get very ugly in the dome quickly if we don’t start the our of conference hot

I don't want anyone to betray a source here, so it's a simple yes/no question. Was the "party incident" in the same zip code as the Edelin train?

Lots of doom on here, this is a huge loss, probably inexplicable, definitely 100% on the head coach, but we will field a team next year that is probably .500 in the acc and on the bubble. It is what it is. We wont be terrible. We just wont be very good, and we will get handled by anyone that plays pressure defense.

He didn’t sit! His playing time increased exponentially over the course of the season. He was on the court at the end of most games and most halves, until the tendinitis really slowed him in the last couple of weeks, particularly the ACC tourney. I just don’t think playing time is the issue. Kadary believes in himself and I gotta believe he knows he would beat out Joe for the starting spot after an off-season of work on his jumper and conditioning. Boeheim constantly praised him. Look at the two Athletic articles I just posted. JB would have promoted him to starting PG if he did what he needed to do in the off-season.
It didn't increase exponentially and even by the end of the year he wasn't playing as much as he should have been playing on the first day of the year.
