Recruiting 2022-2024

With O'Neill having finished up and Millon having flipped, Duke should really be in the fight for top attackmen. Duke tends to recruit pretty well in Connecticut too.

That is 2 four-stars for Hopkins (with goalie Andrew Cook). Hopkins doesn't really seem to be in the running for the top guys as much as in the past.
It will be interesting to see who does better with the MIAA, Hopkins or Syracuse with Pietramala.

Hop has been hanging around a little bit in recent recruiting, but at least on offense the best Milliman recruits have been canadian in Collison and Marquis. With his connections to the Haudenosaunee team and indoor lax in general, that is probably their best bet at top offensive talent. Not sure if losing Grant hurts them or not there.

Petro obviously a big name in MIAA and a loss for them at least in terms of recruiting, but maybe the UMBC D Coordinator is able to keep the connection strong at least on the defensive end. Have to imagine Milliman is not the most hyped up name on the recruiting trail in MIAA. At least for 2022 it looks like they had no commits from south of Jersey.

hop's new volunteer assistant is the director of the crabs club program. that may help a bit with the MIAA. but the recent emphasis has been on canada and now, with LI native john crawley in the fold, they should be competitive on the island too and their most recent commit is indicative of that. but they're never going back to the MIAA dominance of old

petro will help cuse with the occasional MIAA guy (like flipping hottle of calvert hall, where former petro player joel tinney is an assistant) but with gait technically in charge the bigger emphasis is going to be canada and guys with box skills. and of course petro has more connections on the island than anyone. ultimately i dont see either hop or cuse seriously competing with maryland, unc, navy, or uva for the top MIAA kids, at least right now. these things tend to change a bit over time

Brian Kelly is running Crabs now? What happened to McClernan?

FWIW, great pick up in a vol for Hopkins. Kelly struggled at Goucher but is an excellent coach and if the club connections are for real, thats huge.

he's *a* director, maybe not *the* director. never really understood how these club programs actually operate

BJORN is banned from making predictions

in all seriousness, i heard it was UVA as the very heavy favorite the entire time, with some minor consideration toward UNC but that Cuse was never really in the picture

Well that stinks.

Daaang major bummer. A little easier to take since we got a high end offensive guy last week. Odds probably against us the whole time with the brother situation. Other options out there!
