I think OKC taking his qualifying offer so late in the game hurt Dion's market as well.
I think this played a huge, huge part in it. He got screwed when the dynamics of OKC's franchise completely changed and they pulled their offer after everyone else had pretty much spent all their money. No way he signs a 1 year $2.9m deal if he is an UFA from the start.
I don't think he's getting the max like some people said back when but to say he doesn't belong in the NBA is almost just as big as an overstatement.
