10 days to the return of the best show on TV

Catelyn is so annoying in both the books and the movies. I simply don't care for her character at all. She is very much akin to Skylar in Breaking bad for me. Just a total yenta.

I also really like Jamie, The Hound, Arya (cannot wait for her upcoming story line next season), Jon Snow, Theon, Littlefinger, Yara and Varys. I think Varys in particular is a very underrated character.

Eerie how aligned my character preferences are with yours. Concur totally on the concordance between Cat and Skylar, both of whom contribute cacophonous caterwauling and little else IMO.

And Varys is terrific. His sly looks and slick delivery yield a Varys even more unctuous than the literary incarnation.

I never understood the hatred for Catelyn. May be because she is somehow portrayed worse in the show? I can't tell, my book-perspective is too hard to reconcile with show-perspectives... I just notice a lot of people hating Cat in a way I've never considered. I just see her as a depressed mother tormented by her inability to protect her children, really hard to hate on that.

For me, a non book reader, the way she treated Jon Snow was always the #1 reason she rubbed me the wrong way. I know she explained her piece this season to Robb's wife...but I didn't buy it.

Don't be so sure. There are enough storylines and characters to make it possible for people to kind of forget about Tyrion for most of a season. I'd probably view it similarly to how The Wire handled Jimmy McNulty in season four, in which he goes from being the de facto lead to basically a fringe member of the cast, only popping up occasionally throughout the season.

That's about how I think they COULD handle Tyrion if they want.

There's already reports of Dinklage being a diva w/ pay demands...so I doubt he'll be fringe like McNulty.

Have not seen any of this. Where did you read it?

I read it on someone's twitter. Someone with a good rep too..like maybe Alan Sepinwall? not someone that had bad info...I'll see if I can find it.

Two drivers:

1. Her treatment of Jon Snow - inexcusable

2. Based on the book, and Baelish's unquenchable lust for her, I expected her to be... well, hot. Or sexy. Or both. While the actress is clearly very talented and does a great job of selling the character she is hard to look at. Crabapple Wrinklyface is the moniker I've come up with. And that attitude - I get that she's been through a lot, but even before the stuff hit the fan she was a worry wart - was she ever happy? Now that her family's been decimated, she's found a nadir as a nattering nabob of negativity, the nexus of nagging. And that voice: agh - make it stop. Her final scream totally reminded me of my mother when she learned I was still dating a girl she didn't like. I just want Cat to ... and unfortunately we STILL haven't heard the last of her.

So did you guys know the actress who plays Shae is a former Pron star? Um, not that I searched Pornhub* to verify this or anything. And by the time she was like 23 or 24 she had already transitioned to real acting and won the German version of an Oscar, which is kind of astonishing when you think about it. Who would imagine someone like Lexi Belle or Alexis Texas doing the same thing, after all?

*Sibel Kekilli is her name, and her scenes are easy to find, since most of you are deviants

I missed Strong Belwas this season. His role in the siege and invasion of Meereen was hilarious.

Was it for 'Logjammin'?

A gossip?

I know that is the literal definition of the word but the slang use of it usually means a woman who talks to much and never shuts up. An annoying hag basically.

I know what it means. I wasn't sure if that's where you were going with it either. They're both annoying, but for me it's not for how much they talk but for what they say and how they say it.

That quickly became one of my favorite screenshots of all time. So much emotion behind that scene. I've been looking for an HD version of that pic since yesterday. Can't find one :(

Also, here's someone's list of the top 15 episodes of GoT so far

That list seems entirely plot-driven & I disagree with a bunch of em, but a fair list nonetheless.

Don't forget, though, since books 4 and 5 happen congruently, they can draw out someone's storyline through possibly two seasons, though I wouldn't imagine they'd draw it out that long. We'll probably see bits and pieces from both of the books through the 5th and 6th seasons

It amused me to hear some folks suggest the low point of the entire story arc was coming up (Red Wedding). While the Starks are generally model citizens, IMO the low point of the ASOIAF arc (to date) will be the Tyrion-related catalyst that the showrunner had better damn well get right.

Oh, Ramsay. It's interesting to see what they do with this storyline, since the majority of his mentionings/actions happen in book 5, yet he and Theon are part of season 3.

i wish they would have introduced ramsay as reek to help solidify the nature of the reek theon is to become
