Great game, great crowd, great win.
And my daughter was born.
I loved that team so much, and that Nova game was a classic. They could have and should have won it all, if not for the AO injury. I was in New Orleans for work that week, and watched the game and College Game Day from there. It was awesome. I can’t believe it’s been 15 years. Time passes way too fast.
Btw, here’s a link to the first and second halves of the game that I found on one of the SyracuseFan threads. Thanks Pat from
Syracuse! Enjoy!

Congrats. I got the towel as a momento of being there. Back when commemorative towels and t-shirts were a thing.

They played this song that night over the PA in the Dome and it was spot-on appropriate and the perfect song to describe that glorious night.

same exact thing with me too

That night was a coronation and the season should have ended with the chip. It was probably my favorite season of all-time other than Melo of course.

If you were a student during this time, this game is probably the equivalent to the Pitt game in 2003 for me.

For this one, I had to work a different game that started is 7 in NYC. Got done by 9, raced to East End where I entered to an absolutely jam-packed bar and a double-digit 'Cuse lead.

To watch how fast that team went from defense to offense is unreal. I don’t see any teams today push the ball like that team.

I have a framed panoramic picture of this game over my desk in my home office. I look at it every day.

What made that game extra exciting is that we were ranked #4 going in, but #1 Kansas, #2 Kentucky and #3 Purdue incredibly all lost earlier in the day. So we knew if we won, we would probably be #1 for the first time in 20 years.
