Yeah, scratch next year. He's not a FA until the following year. It will be interesting to see if the Nats try to sign him ala Strasburg, trade him to get something in return or whether Boras gets him the record pay day.

UnderArmor just insured that he's making it to FA so Boras can be Boras.

Of course Boras already orchestrated the UnderArmor deal so Boras is already Boras and will be so again.

Pineda needs to get his act going or he too will be in the tabloid's trade---
articles. They already have the relief pitchers going e.g.Wilson and Batances. I presume for a big name third baseman although the idea of Didi playing third with Mateo at SS is intriguing. Jorge is a super fast runner with stolen base ability.At this point we know that Pineda blew the game early again an he is running out of chances to be a go to guy in the rotation.WhenKapielian comes back from his shut down hiatus he will likely be the next man up for Cashman. If that happens a Pineda is pitch better he will be placed on the trade table.

Girardi believes Ellsbury could be back in the lineup by this weekend. Said since they've come this far, they don't want to use the DL.

Joe Girardi said that he thinks it is realistic both CC Sabathia and Alex Rodriguez can be activated in the minimum 15 days.

That kind of explains why Olson in the first place. He was the set-up player. He got his cup of coffee and went back to ScrantonPA. Having been there a few times its.

Putting Sanchez againsyt one of the best pitchers in the MLs is a bit questionable IMHO.

If he continues occupying a roster spot and not winning, he will be on that proverbial block for trade purposes. He would return a big name return. I would hope for a bat. When Kaprieian is all better he won't be far from the big call-up.

$4.3 mill is not a ton of money. Also if he is not producing, why would he return a big name for a trade?
