Carter didn't hit it hard enough

I wonder what he would do if he actually swung hard. His HR last night was bizarre. Looked like a 1 handed swing that he was trying to check. Left field bullpen.

That 3rd strike swing off Kimbrell though, that was an all timer. I don't know if I've ever seen a MLB player miss the ball by that much.

What should they do, pretend he is injured and send him on a bogus rehab assignment or have him take up space in the bullpen? When you're ace is struggling, I think you have to live with it. Tanaka has certainly earned the opportunity to figure it out.

Not the ace. That job belongs to Severino now. Make up an injury and give him a couple weeks to figure it out. Can't keep running Tanaka out there and giving up 5-6 earned runs.

No crap to you, but it would hardly be the first time it's happened. Nobody minds really when it's done a little here and there, as long as it's not abused. But something certainly seems amiss, and I'm not sure there's been a Rick Ankiel or Mark Wohlers "Yips" style of affliction added anywhere on the list of legitimate injuries. But if they send him to S/W-B for a "rehab assignment" and he gets tattooed there, then what?
