2020-2021 NY Knicks Season Thread

Couldn't play a much worse 2nd half. Should have been a W, and back to .500.
Reminded myself where Knicks are and what expectations were, to address the disappointment!

Interesting quote from that article shandeezy posted..

“Honestly, Thibs is a dog,” Randle said. “He’s a guy that is an extreme competitor and very aware of everything that’s going on. Takes each possession like it’s our last, and really coaches with the type of intensity and passion that you want from a coach.”

CR is a sports talk radio H0T Takes, read the NY Post headlines kinda guy. He’s all about the big names and the flash.
I'm 99.5 pct convinced that Cr is Craig Carton trolling us.

Maybe return of fans to MSG Tuesday will wake the Knicks up.
Going backwards last 2 games, fortunate to pull W out of an inept Q4 tonight!

We have our (well deserved) All Star,
but what an advantage having a player like Curry!
Another Q3 Knicks siesta, but nice comeback to make a game of it.
Good veteran team won, while the young Knicks still provide reasons for optimism.

Great to hear the 2,000 fans chant MVP for Randle when he was shooting FTs.

The Knicks also did this after Randle found out he made the all star game which was a really nice move by the org:

Interesting game-
Payton has actually been playing well, but him being out split up DRose and IQ and they both thrived running 1st/2nd teams (even accounting for Kings play no D).
Props to Ntilikina for being ready/playing well in 1st minutes since December. Now wondering again if Knicks should keep him. He's so up/down -can he finally be consistently good?
Better PT distribution -Julius only played 31" and RJ 25".
Bench shined tonight. Need more of those Burks Buckets -his offense can add W's to Knicks record.
What is up with the Knicks in Q3?! Outscored by 8 while +27 other quarters.
Much more fun when IQ brings his A Game!

Look forward to seeing what these new rotations do vs the Pacers Saturday -can get back to .500.

You're gonna feel pretty silly about feeling good about that win last night when CuseRunner reminds you that it hurts our ~1 in 75 shot of getting both the next Oscar Robinson and Lebron James in the next two drafts.

I'm off Tank for this years draft. Cade Cunningham is no longer the consensus number 1 pick anymore.

However. Here is where I'm going to complain. Quickley had 25 points last night and he still is not starting. Thibs hinted at more minutes for Obi the other night then plays him 17 minutes.

Lineup needs to be upon Robinson return from injury

C- Robinson
-Randle
-Toppin
G-Barrett
G-Quickley

Woulda been pretty silly to blow a third of the season on some unproven 19 year-old talent, huh? Especially when the playoffs are a real possibility for the first time in a long time. Especially when just a few games will decide who's in and who's out, huh?

He seems to have no real understanding of how the draft lottery works, AND he thinks the NBA is running a conspiracy against the Knicks to prevent them from getting the number 1 pick...and he STILL wanted to tank...until the “experts” demoted the next Oscar.

How do U explain all the Draft Lottery we have been in since 1986 (year after Ewing) we have never moved up in the draft position wise.

Ok...so why would you want to tank if that’s what you think is happening?

I also think the league would prefer to have their big market teams doing well, if anything.

Then how bout they set it up that way then to throw struggling big market franchise a generational talent.

How exactly? Change the draft to somehow add weight accounting for each team's market size?
This team is Percolating and we don't know yet how far their promising development will take them.

Any college players with great Q3 stats? That may be the best 1st round pick for Knicks.

How about make good draft picks, make smart signings, and develop your talent?

How many times has Utah picked first? Why are they usually good?
