2021 Yankees Off Season / Spring Training ...

When me and my family attend those few weekend series a year during the season. Money is not something we think about we know we're going to spend more money overpriced. Another reason Hal owes us a better product and to put our money on the field.
You are a hoot.
The Yankees spend plenty of money.
You honestly are like the young Patriots fan who grew up going to the AFC title game 9 years in a row and believe it’s manifest destiny for it to happen.

The Yankees have a competitive team every year and if they can make a trade to better the team they will.

You are hilarious Hulk.

Cheap bastards, ain't they?

We could have a 300 million dollar payroll if we wanted too. It wouldn't taint my feelings of winning and winning a world series. That is my point.

Do you understand how the luxury tax works?

Going over it 2 years in a row is stupid.
The penalty becomes you pay 2 dollars penalty for every 1 dollar you spend.

Thus a 10 million dollars becomes 30 million dollars.
Your draft picks go down 10 slots and you lose international signing money.
It’s punitive to go over the tax line for more than 2 years in a row.
Going below resets the tax.

Stop thinking it’s manifest destiny your team wins. This isn’t the 1920s anymore.

I DO NOT CARE NOR DO I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THE LUXURY TAX. NOT WITH WHAT US FANS SPEND TO ATTEND GAMES

The luxury tax affects the franchise long term. It’s not just the payroll.
Do you want 1 WS title or sustained competitive teams?

It makes the team worse when you go over the Luxury Tax.
The luxury tax penalties from the last CBA have basically created a salary cap. Going over 2 years in a row doesn’t kill you but more than that does.

The penalties for going over now make it necessary you can’t stand over the luxury tax like the old days.
The penalties weren’t punitive enough to make teams have to get under.

The penalties are rough.
Now if in the next CBA the players get the penalties lowered which is doubtful then going over the tax line may become done every season by the big market teams.
Right now though it’s bad business.

CuseRunner and taint.

Two words I never thought I'd use in the same sentence.

Imagine if the price of Keystone Light suddenly tripled overnight. Sure, you could get by for awhile, but eventually it would catch up to you. The next thing you know, there's no money left for intimate haircuts and faux wine, and you can forget about that deluxe wading pool you had your eye on.
