2022-23 Portal Cup

I’d be fascinated by the story I want to know what happens to these kids.
I'd be curious to see a breakout of transfer by enrollment year and where they ended up. Keep in mind that anyone who enrolled in 2022 or in 2021 and took a redshirt year is still eligible for JUCO.

I agree. I would definitely like to see how many are grad transfers and how many years of eligibility left.
For how many of those transfers is it "the last hurrah" as the draft or remaining where they are isn't an option.

You have to enter the portal just to test the market. I think for a decent amount of kids they aren’t sure if there are greener pastures. It probably looks something like:

- kids that have a greener pasture pre-determined through intermediaries.
- kids who got the talk
- kids shown the door
- kids that need a pay check but aren’t sure about the market
- kids getting used by handlers
I think "used by handlers" is either the #1 or #2 reason. Basketball more so than football, but still there in football.

Shown the door is for disciplinary reasons and non-negotiable from the player end. The talk is the staff being honest with the player and the ball in their court on whether they want to fight to stay. Not every player that gets the talk elects to enter the portal. Once they do though they do so knowing the current staff will not take them back.
Would an academic under-achiever be shown the door?
