2023-24 NBA Season

Going back to this list, Leonard is ranked 14th. TSN acknowledges he’s still elite when he’s healthy, yet his ranking takes a hit because he doesn’t play enough. Meanwhile, Durant is ranked 6th and has played fewer games over the last several years than Leonard. He barely gets knocked for that.

It got me thinking…Why does Durant get a free pass for everything?

He demands a trade from Brooklyn and doesn’t get criticized. Contrast that with Carmelo Anthony.

He didn’t get along with his Warriors teammates and nobody really talks about it. Irving and Harden are blamed for Brooklyn, not Durant. Westbrook was the problem in OKC.

Dude is soft on and off the court. He gets a little grief over his social media posts, although it doesn’t stick. Two straight losses to the Spurs and he’s not held accountable.

I know he can shoot, but come on.

Controversy in OKC. Did Draymond interfere with Steph’s game winner here?

So I didnt know it has to change the shot? I just thought if you hit the rim.

@NBAofficial, this is your time to shine

Apparently they gave the bucket to Draymond. This was initially called interference and overturned.

Edit: I was wrong. It was eventually given to Steph. It sure looked like interference though.

The Courts are a little crazy on the brightness level, but I do like that they make it very clear that you know you are watching a tournament game which is helpful moving forward when you are browsing through channels.

Couldn't have asked for a better game to try to slowly build some legitimacy to the event.
I just came back from an evening in the emergency department however - so didn't see a thing.

So the rule is extremely specific. Touching the rim is a violation if the ball is also in contact with the rim. In this case, the ball bounced up in the air and then Draymond touched the rim (and importantly, did nothing to influence the ball going in), so therefore, no violation.

I would have for sure though (as did the Thunder tv guys!) that it would just be if you hit the rim it was a violation. I do think the ruling was correct though. Good first night for the tournament too. (minus the 3 or 4 lengthy reviews we had in the last 90 seconds of the Thunder game. Oh yeah, and also minus another night of the Julius Randle experience)

So how many more top 10 picks does Detroit need before they learn how to win??

Just 6 games in it is CLEAR that Ime Udoka has made a HUGE difference with the Rockets, specifically on the defensive side of the ball. Everything is contested. 3 point shooters are being run off the line. It’s crazy how much better the defense is with largely the same cast

He would have produced a couple championships in Boston if he could have maintained his own discipline.

He is a good defensive coach, but also the two guys who have played the most minutes for them werent on the team last year and are noted good defenders. So that also probably helps

I only watched about the last quarter and a half of the Knicks Clippers game last night, so I don't have a full accounting of what happened in the whole game. However, in that time I can't recall hearing Kawhi Leonard's name mentioned once and the only thing I remember Paul George doing was throwing up a couple of bricks on bad shots. I caught myself wondering at one point whether or not they were even playing in the game or taking a "rest" night. Then they threw the towel in with 4 and a half minutes left in the game and emptied the bench. Odd second half.

Knicks made sure the Garden Party tonight was THEIRS!
Wembanyama has a great future in the NBA, but his highly anticipated Garden debut was a dud.
Knicks picked a good night to start hitting shots.
