I think JJ is guaranteed. So we assume that is one spot filled.

JBA is gone - so that's a net even move scholarship wise.

1. Brown - ?
2. Bell - Appears to be back
3. Taylor - Appears to be back
4. Mintz - Appears to be back
5. Jesse - ?
6. JG3 - ?
7. Quadir - Coming back
8. Peter Carey - ?
9. Hima - ?
10. Symir - ?
11. JBA - Scholarship to William Patterson
12. Benny - ?
13. JJ Starling - still think I’m missing someone but JJ would be #13

? is just not confirmed/rumored.

Quoting this mainly because !!!!!

For those questioning the spacing issues with him and Judah, I would just point out that JJ shot ~38% from 3 his senior season on good volume.
and Judah shot .460 at Oak Hill from three and .333 during conference play. His form looks good and he is a far better shooter than he showed early in the season. He's certainly not lights out and is better with his feet set but he will improve significantly next year. That pairing will be solid from distance.

JBA's slot is going to the freshman William Patterson

Who is the guy from TTU you are interested in? Is it general excitement for the guy or do we have a connection with him? What type of player is he?
Elijah Fisher. From Canada. We were one of the schools that were recruiting him early but we ultimately didn't even make his top 5.

Quadir I read already said he will be back.

Patterson! That’s who I’m missing

Difference is Judah barely attempted any 3's in high school; he was almost entirely mid-range and at the rim.

Quadir said that he was coming back per DT in the Griffin interview

I know you dive deep into the stats on the recruits and have shared awesome analysis. Excited to hear your take on JJ above.

for sure. He is not a high volume shooter from distance but that's not his game. He is good enough to keep the defense honest though. And although he wasn't high volume in HS the 3 still accounted for 18% of his shot attempts. Not exactly nothing and he still shot .462 on them.

FWIW, Trey Autry can talk to JJ anytime about anything because they have a pre-existing relationship as AAU teammates.

So…it’s not hard to connect the dots here..
Two observations:

1/ I really like Starling's game, but what I love more is that he is most likely a multi-year player. So, if/when Mintz departs 12 months from now, we are not starting over in the backcourt. That is one aspect of the portal that I don't think anyone comprehends just yet. How do a series of one-year players affect a program over the course of 5-10 years.

2/ I don't know this, but I wonder if Starling's final prep year at La Lumiere (Ind.) is now working in our favor (after initially helping ND's push). In other words, he's been away from home for the last two years and he has legit pro asperations. So, why not go home for a few years, feel the love and be around his family and support structure?

Shot the ball terribly, including from the free throw line. Was lazy on defense(that can be fixed) and had more turnovers that assists. I don't disagree he's a great athlete.
His turnover rate was above average, at least. He just wasn't getting assists. Not great but I think it is much better that way than good assists numbers with a bad turnover rate.

I just hope that if we send Joe packing, it is with an appreciation of what he was and did here.

Hed be a great sixth man… wouldnt send him packing unless hes not okay with that role… he prob wouldnt be.
