Slightly OT but has a parallel. I have a 5 yr old dog who is a mix between a pit bull and a dachshund (yes, a pit weenie). She is the sweetest dog and loves to be outside. She mainly wants to chase lizards through the bushes which she does all the time. She ruins my bushes and never catches any lizards. Her day is the same every day.

My life in one respect is very similar to hers except I constantly go Syracusefan and look at either Men’s Recruiting Forum or the Syracuse Men’s Basketball thread “2023-2024 Portal Options, hopefully for some useful information on insight on a new high school recruit or a probable transfer. Like my dog, I will return to the same locations several times doing the day hoping for insight but never finding sufficient news.

LOL, i feel that I am in a worse situation than my dog because at least she is getting exercise where I just become more frustrated during the-end of the year and the beginning of the next year. Neither of us catch the lizards that we try for.

Do available scholarships really matter in the age of NIL? Couldn’t we have a full roster in terms of scholarships distributed and still go after players if an NIL deal with a booster/collective was worked out that was lucrative enough for the additional player(s) to pay their own way?

Have not written Red off. Where did you get that? I am frustrated with the possibilities of new players and no realization yet. I believe Red will do well and have said that.

I am impatient with no news on who eventually comes to Syracuse through the portal.

Oh, i see. You think I am referring to Red chasing players. No, my comparison is between my dog chasing lizards and myself going back and forth to the aforementioned Syracusefan forums.

Do what I do, come to this thread every 4-5 days. Then you get 10+ pages to catch up on and it seems like there is a ton of movement. You get to binge read. I'm not kidding.

Gosh I wish I was that patient. Lately I find myself checking in every 3-4 hours (so several times a day!)

This guy is really good. Can’t shoot but is very athletic and can distribute. Not sure how he would fit but he’s a player.

Getting paid to play is nice, but no one likes losing.

Does anyone know who we are currently actually tracking in the portal? We've heard about Hicks, Westry, Dickinson, and Bradley, but it's been quiet and now it appears everyone except Bol, Symir and Joe will return, and it's not clear whether any of those guys were merely hedges against guys leaving. Hoping to add someone good.

If what Red said is true and stays fact, we probably wont get another portal player. I'm shocked tbh that all of the forwards have stayed but I've always heard everyone loves Red and this just proves it.

I will be ecstatic if Jesse and Judah return. I'm also excited about JJ joining the team. That all said, I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't really concerned about our forwards spots. Very glad that Bell and Benny are returning but would feel so much better if we also had a portal dude at that spot to also assist. Then we could be talking.
