Apparently there were issues between the Ole Miss RB and the staff there. He got into multiple fights with his OL and mid-season demanded the coaching staff make changes on the offense and play calling. Looks like he got pushed out despite being one of the best RB in the country.

Maybe this had been covered but what would be the main reasons for guys entering the portal weeks later than the first guys?

There have been a couple positive court ruling for players who are transferring for the second time to start immediately. I would imagine that is driving the second wave. Also Players from Alabama and Texas who are now out of the playoff.

Truthfully, there's been so many highly ranked or productive QB's in the portal, it's impossible not to get one if you're looking.
