Yeah looks like it has been confirmed. I had the same thought as you, their young backup was solid when he was called upon this season.

Anywho, it's the Monday after Selection Sunday, a lot of teams' seasons are now officially over. Expect some new transfer portal entries this week.

Over at Fanlax a poster said that Garrett Degnon will be the only returning fifth year for Hopkins next year. That poster could be misinformed, or of course things could change. The elephant in this room is if Petro will reach out to any of his former player at Hopkins?
Epstein is the headliner but other names that standout would be Matt Nawreski, Jake Lilly, Owen McManus, and Alex Mabbett. All these players contributed to the Jays this season and McManus and Nawreski (when healthy) were starters. Something to watch for I guess.

Nawreski (assuming healthy and in the portal) would be someone I think SU would be after 100%. Not sure on McManus as SU may want to roll with what it has and the youth coming in but I could see that to. I wouldn't be shocked if that poster was onto something as it was rumored Epstein and a few other Sr's were less then thrilled and there was tension within the program. I suspect Hop will be active in the portal. Lots of rumors about Madronic potentially ending up there but comp for him should be significant.

No idea what he's looking for in a school but as a midfielder this makes a ton of sense for SU.

According to his Linkedin he is "Pursuing MS in Real Estate and Property Development." Cuse does not have a graduate real estate program, only undergrad. Although you can concentrate in real estate in the MBA or Finance MS programs.

He’s a Culver kid so he might know Hiltz. Not sure if they overlapped. He would also know Irelan. But I’m sure he knows people at lots of other programs. Just trying to point out connection.

Yes, the rumor to ND is Conlin from Holy Cross, who has eye popping numbers. Curious to see what he does in a system like Notre Dame's. I didn't get the sense that the other big name was limited to the defense, but maybe I haven't read the same threads as you. Hoping it's not anyone too big but I'm sure Corrigan will be extra motivated after losing out on the tourny this year.

For some reason I seem to recall us recruiting Kirst out of HS but perhaps my memory is misplaced. A solid player but I am unclear if SU is going to try him at midfield or keep him at attack. Definitely brings a veteran presence but if he's coming in to play attack I wonder if Kelly or our old friend Nicky Solomon would have had more sense as they have better scoring numbers. Regardless happy to have him a board and look forward to seeing what he can do here.

Well he is definitely a Kirst brother. The dude is huuuge even for one of them. Shooting percentages would suggest that he is a little "high volume" to put it nicely. I highly doubt the attack line next year would be Spallina Hiltz Kirst. If you have (ideally) the dodging/feeding of Spallina with the feeding of Hiltz, the ideal third man would be a finisher like Birtwistle. Kirst seems like more of a ball carrier. With our talent at attack I am guessing we run him out of the box to abuse small ssdms or draw an LSM. Could certainly be a guy who draws the attention of a defense, which we need after losing curry and dordevic.
