2024 bowl projections thread

That sums it up. I understand the frustration over the opponent but too many people acting like the actual bowl sucks, it doesn’t at all, not close

I think the issue for many is the timing of the bowl. I know many people, us included, were going to be able to attend the Gator bowl. I can get the time off from work after January 1st. I cannot swing the Holiday bowl, as many co-workers have Christmas week off.

The Holiday bowl also does not work for many because of family obligations with Christmas. We will likely have a big watch party in Syracuse versus actually being able to attend the game. That’s my disappointment.

Totally get that. I wish everyone who wanted to go could go, I just wish some people would stop acting like this is a fourth tier bowl, Washington State being the opponent or not

It might be awful for those on SyracuseFan.com but I’m not sure it’s awful for the team to go to the beach in San Diego and everything that city has to offer.

San Diego is my favorite US City that I have visited. Great spot. That time of year the average high is 65 so I doubt there is going to be a lot of beach time unless you are a seal.

If McCord is properly called “ in the grasp” versus BC, OR the onside kick stands, we would likely win and:

-Be the only team with nine wins versus bowl teams
-Be one of 2 teams with Georgia to beat 3 10 win teams

And we would still be left out due to “strength of schedule”

Anybody who is happy with this because we ’could’ get murdered by an SEC team is a loser.

We could also lose this game and look worse, but if you want to be the best then play the best. Change the perception and the narrative.

big time. Anyone who has watched Alabama would notice they’re not that great. They have Shrader on steroids at QB, Ryan Williams as a freak Wr, but only a 17yr old freshman and that’s it. Defense is good but so is our offense. We’re not playing them , but a win vs them , or Ole Miss who barely missed the playoffs is a HUGE difference. Ole Miss is beatable and their fans will pack the place. That game would have been something to look forward too.

Yep. Likely now a freshman QB for Ole Miss among many other opt outs vs a meh Maalik Murphy. As opposed to a possible McCord vs Dart. Oh well - out of our control.

Trying but just disappointed

Edit: as others have said, it isn’t the location or the bowl as much as playing WSU just isn’t exciting to play against compared to just about every other team discussed here. Let’s win with the players that will be here next year and get to 10 wins.

Definitely no beach time but after living here for over 20 years it’s great. There are so many activities during the holidays for those who make it out here. Here’s just an example of one I’ll be doing the day before the game.
