2024 Preseason Camp Thread

Not gonna speculate on this but at what point as a university do we agree we’ve had to many injury’s on turf so we should look into grass in the dome.
Sounds like speculation to me. We've been pretty good injury wise so far this pre season. Every team gets injuries and we don't even know what the injury is yet. No need to bring that topic back up at this point.

I'm no botanist or anything, but how would that work exactly?
With a basketball court over it, it wouldn't. They'd probably have to reinstall it every year... and forget about switching it from one to the other during early basketball season.

Logistically, it would be very difficult to do this in the multi-use dome.

Like, brown dead grass?

Yeah some here are jumping out of the window based on board speculation. It’s probably right, but wait on some info first.

It’s simply not a feasible option at Syracuse.

Unfortunately we are stuck with turf
Is this you by any chance?

Why do we suddenly need grass turf? Syracuse used to play on astro turf and everyone got knee injuries, yet somehow they were still able to field a team and won games

Syracuse upgraded about 15 years ago to field turf. Apparently that cut down on a lot of injuries. Now we need natural grass? Come on. It's football.

Injuries are going to happen if Fran Brown wants to make practice as tough as possible. Maybe as a rookie coach he will need to learn lessons on how to get his players through the off-season.

But maybe these reports about another injury are nothing at all. Or maybe it's an injury that would've happened regardless of the intensity of practice or the nature of the field. Who knows?
