Even before his most recent injury, he's been a player in decline offensively and defensively. The good version of Rizzo is probably not walking through that door again.It's good to have Rizzo back on his feet. Even as he works back up to speed he's bound to be a better contributor than Rice was these last couple months.

Jazz can hit, but is a real liability at third base. DJ can't hit at all now, and is losing something in the field, but does give you a good veteran presence. Rizzo is a good guy but a shadow of the player he was. Rice is raw and still has to figure it out. Not great pieces to choose from at those positions right now.It's a team game, and NYY is better with Jazz at 3rd and Rizzo at 1st, than with Lemahieu and Rice, respectively. I don't dislike either one, but they're holes in the order.
