2024 Yankees Season

It's good to have Rizzo back on his feet. Even as he works back up to speed he's bound to be a better contributor than Rice was these last couple months.

Even before his most recent injury, he's been a player in decline offensively and defensively. The good version of Rizzo is probably not walking through that door again.

It's a team game, and NYY is better with Jazz at 3rd and Rizzo at 1st, than with Lemahieu and Rice, respectively. I don't dislike either one, but they're holes in the order.

Jazz can hit, but is a real liability at third base. DJ can't hit at all now, and is losing something in the field, but does give you a good veteran presence. Rizzo is a good guy but a shadow of the player he was. Rice is raw and still has to figure it out. Not great pieces to choose from at those positions right now.
