I had speculated a week or so ago that this may be the end for DJ. However, I'm now hoping this is the start of him turning it around. The poor guy looked so lost at the plate. Never has a good guy needed that more. Maybe the rising tide will lift all boats. (okay it's only 6-4, but you know ...)

I was 16 and had just been looking through the Yankee scrapbook I had made when I was 10-11 years old when I heard the news. He was my favorite player, I actually got to meet him at the auto show in Syracuse when I was 13 or 14, he had alligator skin shoes on. I will never forget it as a young teen and getting to meet my hero. His death still seems surreal to me all these years later.
