2025 Schedule A Killer

Former Holy Cross/UNLV QB Matt Sluka officially entered the transfer portal five days ago and I have seen a couple of reports that SU may be a landing spot.

I am hoping 2025 commit QB Luke Carney is the real deal but throwing freshman QB under center seems unrealistic with Tennessee, Notre Dame, Clemson, SMU, and more on the schedule.

Rutgers isn’t the only Northeast team that could be in the market for a QB next offseason. While Sryacuse QB Kyle McCord has another year of eligibility, he could declare for the NFL Draft or opt to transfer once more, thanks to his hot start. First-year head coach Fran Brown was one of the most active coaches in the portal last offseason, and Sluka, being a local talent, would raise the floor for an Orange team competing in a wide-open ACC.

Don’t forget we have Jakari too and he was pushing Michael Johnson for #2 qb as a true freshman

He will have a full year in next season

Let's just make a bowl next year. Some of you guys are just gonna have to make peace with trying to get to the Pinstripe or Fenway. It would be a HUGE accomplishment with that schedule.

Keep the streak going, looks good for recruiting and keeps fans relatively happy. I look at a team like VT who has like over 30 bowl games in a row.

Because it is important, I did a little digging and found out that SU will be the visiting team for the Tennessee game. The officials will not come from the ACC nor the SEC. Plan accordingly.

Now that SMU, Cal, and Stanford are in the mix, who knows how this gets adjusted.
SMU is getting UVa's 2026 slot against ND so that UVa can enter into a 2-year contract with WVU in Charlotte.

I think Stanford isn't a part of the ACC rotations against ND because they play them every year under a separate, direct contract with ND.

6 wins will be tough
Yes.

But I also don't think
Uconn/Colgate/Gt/Pitt/BC/UNC/Duke are great leaps to beat.

We need to play well but those are all winnable

Miami who knows who the QB is.

SMU on the road will be hard

the Other three could all be top 10 teams.

We could go 6-0 at home and 0-6 on the road.

I think it is more likely 5 home 3-4 away and agree on the top teams

me looking at next year's schedule

This isn't even fair now.

This year's CFB Playoff ranked #5 on the road. #7 basically on the road. #10 on the road. #13 on the road. #16 on the road. A team that also received votes in the Coaches Poll and took UGA to OT will be on the road. A team that was 9-3 this year we will be at home. A team coached by BoB and that beat us this year will be at home. A team that beat us easily this year and that we never beat will be at home. A team coached by Belichick will be at home. A team coached by a former NFL HC and that will have our game circled will be at home. We also have a lot of physical travel going to Dallas, Miami, Atlanta twice, and Greenville SC.

Going a relatively competitive 4-8 would be halfway decent against that. How can you even get mad?

The counter argument is times have changed. We have set the bar higher. We should be a returning Top 20 and 10 win team from 2024. In 2025, Cuse will have a nice stable of young QBs. I expect they land one of the top 10 transfer QBs. If the #1 QB goes down for any length of time we have much better options now.

The schedule is brutal but they should be better prepared under Fran than Dino. As Sal said, 4-8 is possible be I think a 2nd or 3rd tier bowl is more likely. We as fans need to adjust expectations.

I’m so curious what the oddsmakers will make our win total. They will wrestle with two competing pieces of data. 10 wins in 2024 on one hand and THAT schedule on the other.

Just eyeballing other top schedules from this year, I think we have a harder schedule than any of them. Maybe Oklahoma is comparable but even they had Maine, Temple, Houston which isn't that hard and 7H/4A/1N to our 6H/5A/1N and our neutral will be 85% Tennessee fans.

13-0... there expectations adjusted.

Least we'll start the season ranked so Tennessee have a ranked opponent to help their SOS despite them losing to us.
