Going 6-0 is possible, but every team usually has one stinker. So 5-1 is more likely. Even 4-2 would be acceptable. We play 3 former NFL HCs and 2 CFB HCs who are D guys. So on the Xs and Os side we are at a disadvantage.

Well if we factor in SECation 9 wins in the SEC is equivalent to 10 or 11 in the ACC even with that schedule. Curious what the "SOS" will be for 25.

Why? It's the ACC. Pundits don't like using ALL data when they are trying to prove their own perspective.

We should start the season ranked #1 just for having the guts to schedule like this. Instead, Boise State will be #10-#15 and hover there are all year. I do somewhat get what the SEC fans say regarding schedule strength. I wonder if even a relatively rationale SEC fan would agree that our schedule in 2025 is tougher than Bama's in 2024? Maybe I will go post it on Reddit... ha ha.

I can't believe we agreed to Tennessee and ND in the same year, who is to blame for that? I want cupcakes!

If we didn't have the Tennessee game I'd be able to look at the rest of the roadies optimistically. Clemson ND SMU a little easier than this year and ditto Miami.

Thank God we don't have to play Ole Miss in a bowl Kiffen probably has third string guys better than his starters.

Maybe Tennessee will play down a little bit idk LSU lost twice to FSU week one but I expect it to be like this years Clemson UGA or Tennessee NC State.

Least we'll start the season ranked so Tennessee have a ranked opponent to help their SOS despite them losing to us.

10-2 gets you in the CFB, that is for sure there will be no debate there. That said 7-5 would be a very solid season with that schedule

Assuming we win our bowl game, it will help the SEC for us to be ranked pre-season, so it won't surprise me.

I know I’ll be in Atlanta and at SMU. No brainer for SMU game. On paper it stinks for the brutality of the schedule but for the SU fan it is going to make for some fun trips

ND usually plays their final game of the season in California. I think they like to play it in relatively warm weather somewhere. They don’t have a game like that scheduled yet but they only have 11 games scheduled. Stanford also only has 11 scheduled. Maybe they will start that series again? It would be great if they did, that game counts as ND’s 5th ACC game in 2025 and we can schedule someone else instead.

Seems like a pipe dream but both teams still have an opening really late for 2025. So maybe…

Let’s just try and guess who we will play on 11/29.

We know it won’t be Clemson. They always play South Carolina on that week.

We know it won’t won’t be UNC. They play NC State that week.

And it won’t be GT, who plays Georgia that week.

I would be shocked if we played SMU that week. I would be really surprised if we play Duke that week as well. No rivalry at all with either team.

We have played BC the final week many times. We have play Pitt the final week a few times. Both are possibilities. And it could be the season ends on the road at ND. We have finished with ND a couple of times.

But I suspect that we finish the season off with Miami at Miami. They don’t really have a rival for that week and given what happened this season, and the likelyhood both teams will be preseason top 25 teams, it could be the ACC pairs us with the Canes again.

I also would not be surprised if we end up with BC and Pitt in the dome in November.

It would really be good to get the schedule changed for Syracuse so BC and Pitt alternate with one home and one away each season. Major fail by the ACC to set things up the way they have. And they did the same thing to BC. Pitt does get BC and Syracuse split up each season.

My suggestion is to move the 2026 SU-BC game scheduled for Boston to Yankee Stadium or MetLife Stadium (preferably MetLife). It would be a true neutral game. Would not count as a home or away game for either team. Could go to Gillette Stadium (or whatever the stadium is that the Patriots play at) if they have an opening and give a better financial deal. If the past means anything, the teams can probably make more money playing the game there than in Boston or Syracuse.

Then pick up the rotation from there. So in 2027, instead of BC playing at Syracuse, Syracuse would play at BC. And in 2028, Syracuse would play BC at home,. etc. This moves the rotation out by a year so now, BC has Pitt and Syracuse staggered each season and we have BC and Pitt staggered.

It only affects BC and Syracuse. We gotta do it a couple years in the future because it affects the number of games each team plays at home in a given season (which will affect the OCC schedule). Switch OOC opponents if need be to give both schools the number of home games they need for a given year.

The headaches will be worth it. BC and Syracuse fans deserve better. Let's fix the gaffe the ACC schedule makers made and make this happen.

you forget that in any one year that can happen out of 4. But did we? or do we have something in reserve... I'm pretty sure a head coach thought of all that and about the Oline... most were not playing last few years.

The HS guys are signed and now time to get the needs filled via the portal and let's show the nation it wasn't a one year thing.

It's a thick forest with some huge trees in the way so cut em down one at a time and sharpen that steel Fran/staff this off season. No excuses.

The ACC football schedule traditionally gets released in late January. I think we are at least a month away from it. Believe is was released on 1/24 in 2024.

I only want to speak for myself.

But I think there is a good chance we will be.

This assumes

a) we win our bowl game in impressive fashion. That likely puts us inside the top 20 for the final poll of the season.

b) we land a quarterback in the portal, and a few other pieces that are highly regarded and hit home with the college football world.

Like it or now, most people start with the last poll for the previous year when doing their preseason poll. If a team finished the season ranked and has most of their key players returning, they are almost surely going to be ranked again.

If we lose to WSU in the Holiday Bowl and/or do poorly in the portal, we probably will not get ranked.

But right now there is a strong buzz about the program. If we finish the season with a bowl win, get to 10 wins and get some more help from the portal, I would be shocked if we were not ranked in the preseason polls.

I think a lot of doubters became believers after the win over Miami.

We saw how hard it was to overcome starting the season without even a single vote in the preseason poll.

Finishing the year strong with a win in a bowl game where many key players (at least on Washington State) are not playing is kind of bogus. But for the purpose of final impression, it is really important.

I think Coach Brown and Kyle McCord know this and it is a big reason Kyle is playing.
