2025 Schedule A Killer

The ACC football schedule traditionally gets released in late January. I think we are at least a month away from it. Believe is was released on 1/24 in 2024.

Would be nice if the ACC was on top of things. How can the B1G and SEC release their schedules 6 weeks earlier?

ACC announces the same time every year. I don't see why that's an indication that they're not on top of things.

first question. Has every ACC team completed the OC schedule and handed it over to the head office?

ND usually plays their final game of the season in California. I think they like to play it in relatively warm weather somewhere. They don’t have a game like that scheduled yet but they only have 11 games scheduled. Stanford also only has 11 scheduled. Maybe they will start that series again? It would be great if they did, that game counts as ND’s 5th ACC game in 2025 and we can schedule someone else instead.

Seems like a pipe dream but both teams still have an opening really late for 2025. So maybe…

Let’s just try and guess who we will play on 11/29.

We know it won’t be Clemson. They always play South Carolina on that week.

We know it won’t won’t be UNC. They play NC State that week.

And it won’t be GT, who plays Georgia that week.

I would be shocked if we played SMU that week. I would be really surprised if we play Duke that week as well. No rivalry at all with either team.

We have played BC the final week many times. We have play Pitt the final week a few times. Both are possibilities. And it could be the season ends on the road at ND. We have finished with ND a couple of times.

But I suspect that we finish the season off with Miami at Miami. They don’t really have a rival for that week and given what happened this season, and the likelyhood both teams will be preseason top 25 teams, it could be the ACC pairs us with the Canes again.

I also would not be surprised if we end up with BC and Pitt in the dome in November.

ND always finishes in Cali, either at Stanford (odd years) or USC (even years). They play the "other" Cali team in SB the 2nd weekend of October.

It appears ND and Stanford, at a minimum, still need a game. So the answer is no.

I know it is early to discuss...but Fran will have a huge challenge. He could very well have a worse record than '24 but a better team.

Best Road Trips in the long time. Just wish we had one in the Mid Atlantic or NE.

Away
Tennessee in Atlanta
@ SMU
@ Clemson
@ GaTech (2nd time in ATL)
@ Miami

Notre Dame (is it home or away?) I Think away but I'm not sure.

Home
Army at home is probably canceled. Need to schedule a win here.
BC
UNC
Duke
Pitt
Plus 1 more TBD (1AA or MAC?)
Let's get that smoke!!!

We should start the season ranked #1 just for having the guts to schedule like this. Instead, Boise State will be #10-#15 and hover there are all year. I do somewhat get what the SEC fans say regarding schedule strength. I wonder if even a relatively rationale SEC fan would agree that our schedule in 2025 is tougher than Bama's in 2024? Maybe I will go post it on Reddit... ha ha.
Boise probably won't be the best G5 team next year. Players like Ashton Jeanty don't grow on trees, and they'd probably be a 9 or 10 win team without him. As for Bama fans... they think every ACC team would go 5-7 or 6-6 in the SEC every season and will never be convinced otherwise. You will only be able to get 1 or 2 posts in before they start going "cmon, you know the SEC is the best, just admit it."

Whomever was responsible for this schedule should be fired immediately
Blame the ACC. Notre Dame rotates in with everyone and Tennessee is a monster paycheck game we had to take. The ACC hammered us as far as our conference road games, that just was the icing on the cake

Does anyone know when the actual dates of the games are released? OrangeXtreme knows everything so I figured I’d tag lol thank you in advance

Within the next month…sucks because SEC and BIG 10 are already out.

That is because USC had always refused to play its game in South Bend any later than October. They were scared of the weather.

ND always ended the season in California for recruiting purposes. The coaches just stayed out on the West Coast and recruited after the last game of the season.

Now, with NIL and transfer portal, the talk around ND is that finishing in California for recruiting may not be as important to ND as it used to be.

We shall see. Pete Bevacqua has stated his desire for ND to continue to play Stanford annually.

The "problem" for ND is that it doesn't want to play a sixth game per year versus ACC teams. It doesn't want to go past an average of five games per year.

John McKay was the one who had it changed from being the last game every year to playing in SB in October.

And we really don't need them on our schedule for the next few years. That would open up a couple of games for them.

Without Jeanty they probably lose to GA Southern
They lose to BYU
They lose to ULNV game 1
WSU becomes a 50/50 game they are not running for 300 with the backup RB
Nevada becomes a 50/50 game
Wyoming almost got them when he played
They probably don't make the 2nd UNLV game any way but he made two huge runs in that game as well

We are playing at ND in 2026 so think it is at home. That said, 10 wins on this schedule should have us potentially in the CFB playoff picture, but a really tough schedule. No QB, no O-Line...lots of questions. Think we are playing UConn.
