2026 Transfer Thread

I think your referring to Jake Meyer from GA. Very intriguing recruit. Hard to see him getting a lot of PT next year barring injuries or other unexpected issues but the following year is wide open for him.
Yeah Jake, on all his socials and his hudl, he put his real name so I was just trying to be considerate to him lol. Also true, would be hard to get playing time but man his tape just jumps off the screen.

Any word on whether Birtwistle will seek a 6th year? He meets all the criteria.

Also, as far as the Colsey brothers transfer rumblings, the only way I could see them being a fit is if one of our 2 returning lefty attack transfer.

Gotta be aggressive with midfield transfers. Both offense and defense. Would like two of each. One high end offensive middie who can dodge is a must IMO
You obviously never know how freshmen will adapt to the college game but I think Jayden Kittleberger has the IQ & athleticism to not only crack the SSDM rotation but potentially stand out as a frosh. He’s a reclass who’s played a national schedule & matched up with some of the top middies in the country at Salisbury School the last 3 years.

Also, I still think the frosh New Hartford grad Logan Banek, who was Top 15 in the country at 59%, could possibly be interested in backing up Mullen if we reached out. He’s obviously local & in their Business school. In this day & age, a legit 1-2 punch at FO can take any team up a tier & he could have a senior year as “the guy” to look forward to.

It would be hard, but I think you could make things work with the Colsey brothers. At attack I think you could play Anderson as an x attackman and put Ryan on the lefty wing. I’ve been impressed with Anderson and his ability to attack the field from multiple spots on the field. As for Kyle, given the knee injury, perhaps you could convince him to start on the second line, with the understanding he’d have a good chance to take over for Leo on the first line as a redshirt sophomore. They look like pretty similar players to me, and Kyle looks like he has the skill set to thrive as a middie.

Maybe they want a cleaner situation (and maybe this is all for not and they never leave UVA), but they could make it work. This leaves Trey Deere on the outside looking in, of course. Is he okay being a man up specialist? He did lose his spot on attack to Anderson, so hard to know where he stands with the coaching staff.

He's one the guys I was thinking could make a play for ssdm next year for sure

Rumbling now is that the younger Colsey is looking to leave but the oldest will return.

On his UVA bio, under the “why UVA” section, he lists:

I love its campus, academics, athletics, and colors.

Guess who has the same colors, Kyle??? Perfect match.

Another cryptic tweet by Kemp. I am assuming he means the Kyle Colsey. Not sure what “Any other program and that would narrow it down but ironically it doesn’t” means. Is that in reference to UVA or somewhere else?? So confusing.

Probably means that Millon is also on the attack line and his father is the elite bloodlines.

UVa is loaded with former Top 10 recruits with elite bloodlines?

He's referencing that for almost any other program when u mention top 10 the player is obvious but uva had multiple so it could be a number of guys but again it's pretty clear it's Colsey as you noted

Does Ghobriel at Virginia have another year as a result of a medical redshirt? One name in the portal to keep an eye on as far as entering is Tyler Spano from Washington and Lee. Best FOGO in d3 and won ODAC offensive player of the year. Charlottesville native so I would assume they would be in his ear if Ghobriel was out of eligibility, but still could be a portal addition regardless.
it'd seem ghobriel is out of eligibility, tho stranger things have happened.
the hoos are bringing in a tank, highly regarded '25 fogo from PA.

Ghobriel only played in three games in 2022, unclear the circumstances surrounding those three. A med redshirt maybe possible but I assume he was just a seldom used FOGO so probably not.

he had fall surgery and missed the 1st 2 months. then navy burned his redshirt for 3 late season games with minimal draws. but that would seem disqualifying.

Ah, ya he's probably done then. COuld see them at least trying to make the argument though.

he's also now an incoming IB analyst for citi in nyc for the last 8 months, after being a summer analyst for fortress last year.
he cooked.

must be nice to have the Fortress CEO as an alum!

Per Fanlax Kyle Colsey is expected to enter the portal and is bound for UNC.
Wonder what convinced him. The loss at home to Richmond in the first round of the tourney? Playing Owen Duffy damn near the entire game in the first round of the ACC tourney on a messed up leg even though the game was clearly lost? Man I hate that UNC keeps getting all these pieces despite achieving absolutely nothing with tons of 5 stars.

Makes sense. After Dom Petro, UNC has very few other lefty offensive options. Wertheim, who graduates, & Ryan Levy, who has a 5th year if he wants it, are the only other lefties who contributed on offense for them this year. All 3 of their 5 star ‘25 middie recruits are right handed. There seems to be a clear path for him to join their 1st mid line for 2 years before taking over for Petro at lefty attack as a Junior, if not just joining Petro & Duffy on attack before then. Colsey plays much more from X than Petro so I could see them both working on the same attack.
