A theory on our line and RBs

I believe the toughest block for an O-line guy is the straight up push aside to create a hole.We have absolutely no misdirection running plays.which in itself help the running game y helping the O-line guy get a better angle for the RB hole. When the defense moves to the initial direction he helps take himself out of the play. It gives our guys a better chance for opening a gaping hole rather than having our RB squeeze through a small gap and be slowed down in the process.Well executed fakes can also get a speedy RB a better opportunity to get to the outside and squared up running north/south on the field. Any geezer worth his orange will tell you the "scissors play was the best misdirection play ever designed with (Xs and Os).The QBs handling the ball is the key in that success.When the defense thinks they have it figured out the give goes to the first back rather than the second.The O-line still gets the angle to open the holes for bg plays.)

When I think of a good running gameplan, I always think of the game when SU played ND in the Dome with Reyes going for a million yards. We had no business putting up those kinds of rushing yards that day, but Deleone did such a good job with those "simple" misdirection plays, that nd had no answer for our running game.
