Full shares in 10 years. Which is right around when FSU, Clemson, UNC buying their way out of the GOR becomes financially palatable. There's no coincidence.

The ACC just fixed its scheduling and now we are going to a market where the MLB and NFL are fleeing from. 2 teams there 1 horrible market worse than Boston and BC in terms of CFB/CBB popularity.
It was 10 years ago we played a 'road' NCAA tournament game against Cal in San Jose and they had literally no home court advantage and fan support.
Everyone will mock the ACC too because of its name 'Atlantic' conference playing games on the Pacific makes every member institution look pathetic.
Very true about the home games and the travel the West Coast kids were already doing. Once you get your butt on a plane, there isn’t a huge difference between a two hour trip and a five hour trip. I mean, there IS but it isn’t a massive deal to the physiology of a 20 year old. Being away from classes for an extra day is an issue but there are a lot of remote options now.Kinda. People always seem to overlook that every school plays half their games at home. Sometimes more than half (see: P5 hoops).
And it’s not like Cal and Stanford Olympic sports teams were taking buses to Pullman, Washington, Tempe, Arizona and Los Angeles. There was a LOT of plane travel involved in the PAC 12.
Obviously it’ll be more now, and some longer hauls. But they aren’t going to be on the road 40 weeks a year.
I’d MUCH prefer tighter geographic conference, don’t get me wrong. Just that some folks don’t always think full through what the travel increase will actually be.
All three will be gone way before then...Full shares in 10 years. Which is right around when FSU, Clemson, UNC buying their way out of the GOR becomes financially palatable. There's no coincidence.

Honestly, this could actually help SU recruit on the West Coast a bit more. In addition….and you have to be careful that the Calif. schools aren’t recruiting the same player…you can sell the annual trip to the Bay Area. Great place to visit and more exotic than a road trip to Durham.
SMU wasn’t power 5 until now Actually power 4.I can honestly say I’ve never watched an SMU athletic event, and didn’t even realize they were a power 5 school.
They’re here because of the Dallas market? Sounds like a southern Rutgers to me.
Yup. This all also points out the purpose of UNC trustees statement “we didn’t want this to happen”…which will be a nice segue to their eventual departure.Full shares in 10 years. One year is continued excellence? Cool. Cool.
Enraged???
Yes, all two stadiums. One of which doesn't have support in their own backyard due to the school making athletics a non factor.Expanding the SU brand westward. We recruit a lot of non athlete students from Cali. This will only help. Especially when we take over these road stadiums.
