Tom, I respect you, your posts are some of the best this board has seen, your analysis is unmatched. However, on the point of Rutgers joining the Patriot league, I am afraid you have overstated their potential.Good for them. UConn and Rutgers should join too.

They had hoped for a spot in the Yankee Conference but it didn't work out.Wait, I could’ve sworn Nova had decided to move up to FBS in the past couple years.
This seems like they’re downgrading instead?
They never moved up. They stuck their toes in the (financial) water and decided it was too cold. They just didn't have a FBS-level stadium and didn't want to build one.Wait, I could’ve sworn Nova had decided to move up to FBS in the past couple years.

Agreed. They don't have the fan support for a larger stadium, if I recall. No large local fan base like many FBS schools. Nor do they have a significant football history to build support. They never moved up. They stuck their toes in the (financial) water and decided it was too cold. IIRC the conference was willing to assist financially to make it happen,Agreed. They don't have the fan support for a larger stadium, if I recall. No large local fan base like many FBS schools. Nor do they have a significant football history to build support.
Nova missed the boat in the early Big East football days by nit stepping up then. They would have surpassed Rutgers and Temple. Not sure if that would have been sufficient but it would have given them a better shot at sticking with the FBS schools.

This is the new lineup:Expect CW and ESPN to strike deals.
If they are lucky it might total $10M per team for all the combined TV deals
Texas St appears to be the invitee...not a bad invite. They might be able to become a UCF type program within 5 yearsThis is the new lineup:
Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Oregon State, San Diego State, Utah State, Washington State and Gonzaga (non-football).
They need 8 to be a viable football conference. The eighth school is expected to be Texas State.
Agree, $10 million per school would be a great outcome for this conference.
Plus those jerks voted No on Penn State to the Big EastAgreed. They don't have the fan support for a larger stadium, if I recall. No large local fan base like many FBS schools. Nor do they have a significant football history to build support.

Expect the PAC to add Texas St by the end of the monthExpect CW and ESPN to strike deals.

They got the last spot over Minnesota State.

It's been a long day, already; I read that as "Inaccurate Word" as if it were a weird cult or bad law office.Or The Incarnate Word
