ACC, PAC-12, and BIG alliance / conference realignment

Wait, I could’ve sworn Nova had decided to move up to FBS in the past couple years.

This seems like they’re downgrading instead?

They had hoped for a spot in the Yankee Conference but it didn't work out.

They never moved up. They stuck their toes in the (financial) water and decided it was too cold. They just didn't have a FBS-level stadium and didn't want to build one.

Agreed. They don't have the fan support for a larger stadium, if I recall. No large local fan base like many FBS schools. Nor do they have a significant football history to build support.

Nova missed the boat in the early Big East football days by nit stepping up then. They would have surpassed Rutgers and Temple. Not sure if that would have been sufficient but it would have given them a better shot at sticking with the FBS schools.

IIRC the conference was willing to assist financially to make it happen,

Expect CW and ESPN to strike deals.

If they are lucky it might total $10M per team for all the combined TV deals
This is the new lineup:

Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Oregon State, San Diego State, Utah State, Washington State and Gonzaga (non-football).

They need 8 to be a viable football conference. The eighth school is expected to be Texas State.

Agree, $10 million per school would be a great outcome for this conference.

Texas St appears to be the invitee...not a bad invite. They might be able to become a UCF type program within 5 years

Texas St is located in San Marcos and is about 30 miles SW of downtown Austin. The area has exploded in population the last 25 years.

Plus those jerks voted No on Penn State to the Big East
