17/7 - someone is going to pay him. He’s not going to get it. Definitely, not at SU. SU could get a lot better for $3 million. Someone who actually tries on both ends of the floor.

No doubt. But, programs will see the productivity. Some P5 will roll the dice on that if/when he enters the portal and withdraws from the draft (just guessing on entering the draft part). His injury history is also a red flag.
That’s awesome. I have spent a lot of time in C’ville. Great college town.
Hope he gets a warm welcome when he returns to the Dome (next season I believe?)
Brent Pry for Virginia Tech football. As an aside, can anyone think of an example (college or pro sports), where a coach was fired, and then immediately came back as an assistant coach of that team?
I’m not trying to disparage Donnie. It’s nothing to do with him. In fact, I expect him to have much more interest than you and most in here seem to should he enter the portal. I just think UVA specifically is a less likely landing spot as their top scorer / best player plays the same position as him.Correct. Donnie wouldn’t start at UVA. People are not paying attention when they say Donnie wants $3 million. He has a higher opinion of himself than how he actually performs. He won’t see $1.5 million, which isn’t anything to sneeze at.

Agree and yet I don't mind UVA at all versus a slew of other in-conference schools.Very glad to hear that Red found a place to land. Should be a good gig too. Will feel a little awkward to me next season seeing him on the UVA bench when we play them.
Send the Virginia, Louisville and SMU tapes too. They will see an entirely different player. His tape against Wilson and UNC when Wilson guarded him 1 on 1, and Donnie killed him, will get Donnie paid. Not drafted, but paid another school will see that tape and pay him on potential. Maybe not a UVA, but there will be schools lining up thinking they can get that Wilson/UNC Donnie every game.

It just happened with Virginia Tech football. Brent Pry was fired and then new coach James Franklin hired him—I think as defensive coordinator? Awkward….As an aside, can anyone think of an example (college or pro sports), where a coach was fired, and then immediately came back as an assistant coach of that team?
