I just think the dude can be a weapon and another team might do more to use him. He only needs a 3-4 catches a game, with his speed he can turn most catches into big gains.

I totally agree, his speed is great and we misused him. Just hope the GTech offense gets going and can use him

I think it's pretty funny that a guy that was not used all that much here transfers to a school that hardly uses the TE offensively as well and people think he's going to light it up there.

Benson was a inconsistent blocker and catcher. They were hoping to stretch the ball with him at times but he struggled catching passes 20 plus. I do remember the one TD pass he caught vs Wake a couple years ago. I hope he improves and gets a bunch of chances at GT. SU's offense does not give TE's an opportunity to do that.

Well when you put in context that does sound ridiculous. I feel like 80 in a game is not a ton but 1000 for the season sounds like a lot. I think he is capable of 400-500 yards if properly used. I get that GT is awful but I guess I expect other teams to adjust and get better.

Our offense performs better with scrappy blocking TE’s like Pierce imo. Of course I’d prefer less dumb penalties but we need guys that block and catch.

Could be true. I am not saying we should not have used the TE more, or that Benson didn't have talent, but you have to make plays when they are there to be made.

I also think we jumped to some large conclusions based on a couple of big plays, one of which was against an FCS team.

I forget which game it was, BC maybe, Shrader hit him perfectly in stride on a crossing route 20 yards down field and it bounced off his hands. I literally said out loud, "that was your one chance and you totally blew it."

I think we saw his physical tools and some explosive plays and thought if Aaron Hackett can get 20+ receptions and almost 10 TDs in a season this kid is going to eat. Then nothing happened.
