I mentioned earlier that kids lie about injuries all the time, competitive nature to do that. To echo what he's saying here, I was once knocked out cold for a couple of seconds in a college lacrosse game, hopped up, had no idea where I was and even ran the wrong way on the field for about 10 yards. Went off, trainer asked me if I was ok and I told her I was fine. Went back in on my next middie shift. No way should I have played again that day.
I got dinged and saw stars several times over a few seasons but I never told anybody. The only thing you're thinking about at 19/20 is not playing and losing your spot.
I feel bad for AJ because it's hard to hang it up when your'e that young. Being that it's football and his symptons he's making the right decision.
