Since 2004 when headcoach PP was fired the coach with the highest winning percentage in SU history the job has been a revolving door. Right or wrong it’s time to give a coach enough time to really build this program. Babers has a history of being successful he should have a minimum of 6 years. Need to build relationships with the high school coaches to recruit the blue bloods, I believe he will be successful.

I’ve been incredibly critical of Babers, but he shouldn’t be fired.

Is his seat warm for next season? You betcha. But he gets a little bit of grace period. Show me you can turn it around. Get some new coordinators in there and pick up some big time recruits next season and this season will be a long distant memory.

if Babers is canned next season I’ll disown the program and go root for another team. Babers is the right guy for this program. Im
Not sure what some of you expect out of this program? Last season was probably about the max we can expect. We are probably a 5-7 to 8-4 type program. Just my opinion

We can expect much more and have seen it in the not so distant past. Having said that, the coach should not be fired for a step back year. I have all the confidence it will turn around next year. People need to chill imo.

OK well he has gotten to 5 wins 1 out of 4 seasons so far.

The firing talk is over the top, but I'm not sure the "history of success" is accurate either. He and the team need to be much improved next year. Rebuilds don't take 5 years

Of course he gets more time. But, Wildhack has to have a serious conversation with him. And:
1. He doesn't get forever
2. Progress must be evident both in recruiting rankings and in wins next year.

It didn't take five years. He turned it around in 3. This year was a step backwards. I believe that next year they go bowling again.
Could be or last year could have been a fluke. I believe next year tells the tale.

I don’t think there is any chance he gets fired after next season. But how do you know he is the right guy for the job? His O has not performed well in any of his four seasons thus far. The D has been awful in 3 of 4 seasons. Recruiting doesn’t seem to be going well. Current talent seems to be lacking. Another 4-8 or worse season and you are left with what for positives?

That all being said I expect us to bounce back next season. I have faith we at least make a Bowl.

There’s like 3 people talking about firing Dino.

Yeah one guy who thinks he should actually be fired. If and when we win again with Dino there will be a ground swell of posts stating that 1/2 the board wanted him canned. Season reminds me a lot of 2011 Marrone era. People were sky high on him after 2010 and really got cold after the 6-7 straight losses to finish the season. And then 2012 was a great team by the end of the year. Maybe the best team we have had in 20 years by the end of season

Don't look at Twitter. There are plenty of idiots out there who think he should be fired if you no where to look. I should never look, it leads to some very bad thoughts about some of the population.

Give Dino more time and let's see how the team reacts vs. Wake after the disaster in Louisville.

Walking out of the Dome after Western Michigan, I heard a guy at the tailgate at the corner of Archbold and Forestry Drive loudly talking about all the reasons Dino "isn't a D-I coach."

I doubt he's gotten any happier (or more grounded) in the last two months.

People are weird.

I'm behind Babers but some of the shine has worn off (he is a mere mortal like the rest of us). Shocked that at times the team looks like they have given up this year. I would never have expected that from a Baber's coached team.
I expect a huge improvement next season. I want him to succeed soooo bad bacause I feel he is the perfect fit for SU. Another 4-8 season though and that cake that he is baking is burning in the oven.

I agree with this.

Re that last line, tell that to coach Mac.

Rebuilds at the real power schools or others at a less of a competetive disadvantage, they dont take too long due to a greater amount of talent in the talent pool available.
If not for a program changing sensation type player(s) in Dungy/Slayton we'd be on the same time track as Mac was, as it is this ones gonna take 5-6 years if it's possible at all to really stock the program with necessary talent to be good long term, consistently competetive. This given our unique challenges up here that make it harder IMHO.

He's shown enough in every way (on the field, personal attributes, etc.) to warrant a full six years IMO and when these discussions come up I'm always brought back to a line my coach used when talking about rebuilds/success, that it's not so much about the X's and O's as much as it is about the Johnnies and Joes. Simple as that.

I always thought the only problem with HCDD was his recruiting. We have been in bottom 4 of ACC every year per 247. THAT HAS TO IMPROVE. But also this year we have had some incredibly baffling play calls, terrible clock management at end of halfs. And also head scratching substitutions. These have been eye opening.

That said I am still riding with Babers but watching him a lot closer. No more "free pass" time to show sustained improvement.

Coach Mac says hello. While he made a bowl game in Year 5 and had some moderate successes in years 3-5, it wasn’t until Year 7 that he had his real breakthrough and then found consistency. Babers has already had a very successful season where we’ve been a top 25 team.
