And So It Begins

Funny thing is I didn't read this thread initially and just figured it was a reference to the tournament starting tomorrow

The next time JB is a dick to the media and we all clap (myself included)...remember these stories and why they always pop up the day before the tourney.
Well this should really smooth things over...

Why do I get the feeling Forde is the little ring leader in this?
Because he is. Dodd didn't do his due diligence and learn that we have known about this since for over a year. He simply saw Forde's tweet a couple of days ago and called a "source" and wrote an article and released at the most opportune time for maximum page hits. Sensationalism at it's best

bilas just tweeted "Syracuse Basketball under investigation by the NCAA?"

100% agree, but to the casual basketball fan it's not read and interpreted that way. I'm confident this is all BS. These witch hunts are becoming comical.

The dart line...

“Throw a dart at the [NCAA] Manual [and you would hit a violation by Syracuse]."

Is a pretty strong statement. That implies that Syracuse is literally breaking every rule in the book.

Is Syracuse actually breaking every rule in the book?

That's a pretty strong statement hide behind the cloak of an unnamed source.

Most of that line is made up or impliled by the writer. Not from the source itself.

Damn Kentucky and Coach Cal. NCAA must really be pissed at them this time.

This is so on the button. As someone who shares the state with that moral midget, I increasingly care less and less about how other programs run their stuff. The history itself of a program that supplied Sam Bowie with a Cadillac and a motel room from his junior year, to the important question asked by Shawn Kemp to a recruit at Kansas: "What car are you getting? What? No car?" - to the current condoms used for recruiting in Lexington, it never ends, they never stop their ways and St. Mary's gets slapped.

The system is a farce and I don;t even really care what you did. The rot affects us all.

If the investigation has gone on for years and there is nothing concrete as of now, what the hell is the big deal?

And why report now? The media is becoming way too predictable.

Drop the soap in the shower and you would hit on how much Dennis Dodd and Pat Forde enjoyed their stints in prison.

Nobody made the connection that having Cheech and Chong hanging with the basketball team was probably not a good thing.

Right? You know you've got nothing when more than half of your anonymous 3rd party quotes are actually your own edited implications.

You know the saddest part of this article is the COMPLETE FAILURE to follow proper Journalism standards. Being a Broadcast Journalism graduate from Syracuse we were taught ALL JOURNALISTS should always get TWO sources before reporting anything. This article is generating buzz based off of ONE ANONYMOUS source and that really pisses me off. However, Dennis Dodd and CBS honestly don't give a s#it because they have to be the first to report this.

And there perhaps lies another piece of the puzzle. Somebody quick check where Dodd and Forde applied to college and where they were turned down for admission.

regardless of the timing of Dodd's post and the quality of his sources - those of you who believe there is nothing to this are going to be disappointed
