Amazes me the total lack of support for GMac on this board. I know it shouldn't.

He's had one good year at the lowest level of Division 1 coaching.
That's like giving a 12 year old a new car.
They might turn out to be a great driver, but honestly, it's too soon to know.

Mins away of Scranton originally, know the family and freaking played against the guy in HS. I’d love him here, when it’s the right time.

I do not want his legacy stained by having to take on this role when things are rock bottom. It’s a big risk for him and the school. If it’s Hop or him it’s gotta be GMac but it’s not a good situation to be walking into right now.

He needs more time to grow as a coach - that’s not a lack of support or hate.

Yeah same here- had the biggest amount I’d ever donated to hoops ready to go if Hodgson was hired or even a very strong other option like Martelli or Murray…. Not gonna throw it at the wall with an in house.. not unproven at least.

The BOT and Big Donors need to understand that without accountability, there’s consequence. Whether they realize yet that that consequence will be there’s to own, is not this fan’s issue.

I wouldn’t call it trashing but I did take a lot of shrapnel going against the well-organized and vocal Friends of Bryan contingency of the board. Which do you think persuaded the AD the most: calling BH a goofball, the nickname Baby Shark Hodgson, the nickname The Guppy, or using the ‘angry’ emote on the pro-Hodgson posts????

But seriously folks, we should all be investing in new sunglasses because SU Hoops future is bright!!!!!

I know it didn't work at Washington but I really believe if we followed the original plan of Boeheim --> Hop on the original or similar timeline (i.e. 2016 - 2018) that it would've worked. Hop had the relationships and fear as one of the best recruiters on the east coast, think moving across the country killed him from that perspective. Hoping cooler heads prevail and realize that was a decade ago, if they wanted Hop back that badly should have brought him in 2023 instead of Red.

Recruiting didn't hurt Hop initially at UW FWIR. It was his offensive system that let him down then once the talent dried up, he was toast

I believe if HOP was coach in 2018 he would still be coaching. Also, if it did not work out we could have taken care of it sooner. BUt our good ole Jimmy B had to play DADDY BALL

I don't know if he'd still be coaching. I still don't think he's a great bench coach. But if he couldn't hack it, it definitely would be nice to have found out and be done with it by now.

You say that but it's really not true, there are no consequences, we're seeing it real time. The board decides their own fate, the same as the Chancelor at a Private University.

The fans are just yelling into an echo chamber, all we can do is just not buy tickets or show up or get hosed on tv media deals for being irrelevant

I have never seen a single board member ever ever lose their job for our sports sucking, nor will big donors ever be turned away.

This is not LSU where if you lose the voters riot, they throw out the school decisionmakers and then they re-allocate tax money to rebuild.
